Re: Tejada traded to the Astros
I really dont think we need Tejada. I have a strong feeling we will regret making this trade.Comment

Re: Tejada traded to the Astros
As an Orioles fan, I've never been more ashamed of that fact than I have been these past few years. I think somewhere down the road, this will be good for the O's. At least we have Nick Markakis to look forward to, for now I guess until he's groomed enough to become a Yankee.Highheat's O's Franchise

Re: Tejada traded to the Astros
I am kind of surprised that the O's did not get Adam Everett in the deal. I wonder if this means that Melvin Mora will shift from 3B to SS and either Aubrey Huff or Scott Moore will play 3B. The Other in-house scenario is Mora stays at 3B and either Freddie Bynum, Brandon Fahey or Luis Hernandez play SS. Of course they could sign a SS (but that does not seem to be the Oriole way).Comment

Re: Tejada traded to the Astros
Hopefully, Moore will be playing 3rd and Mora will be in Philadelphia. Hernandez will be the starting SS unless we get Hu back in a deal with the Dodgers for Bedard.Comment

Re: Tejada traded to the Astros
This is a genius move by McPhail. How and why would the Astro's send all these potential prospects for an over the hill aging shortstop with degrading range and power numbers that have been on the constant decline for nearly 3 years. He is the posterchild for the steroid era and has no future. Astro fans, is this the missing peace for a title run???? I know Everett is a horrid hitter, but come on....you can't give up prospects like this. I will admit, I don't know much about the guys coming back to Bmore, but I have read a lot of Astro fans thoughts, and alot of them seem to believe the Stro's got hosed.
McPhail is already a legend in my mind for pulling this off. I really thought Miggy lost all trade ability. It looks like we actually got something for him.Last edited by SkinsBoYee; 12-12-2007, 10:09 PM.I drink to make other people interesting.Comment

Re: Tejada traded to the Astros
I think you will too. I like Troy Patton a lot, and his ceiling is a #2 or #3 starter. Albers projects to be a #3 or #4. I'm concerned with Costanzo's lack of patience, but he might make it as a DH in the AL. Sarfate is apparently a fireballer and can hit 100 and I love those guys. I don't think Scott will be here on OD. I see him getting spun somewhere else.

Re: Tejada traded to the Astros
Possibly. But if the Orioles don't trade Bedard or can't land a Centerfielder for him Scott could play LF and they could shift Jay Payton to CF which would solve the O's OF problem for at least a little while.
