And, yes, adding Santana would make the Mets the favorite to win the NL IMO.
Thank you sir. Exactly how I felt. And yea...You have to think that the Mets would definitely be the favorite in the NL. I mean a deal like this would put them over the top.

Who said I deem it unworthy? What Im saying is that its impossible to say if they'll win the NL. Read the topic, it asks if they WILL WIN, not if they're favourites. That's the difference.

That's what I hear but I dont really care for it myself. I prefer the DH and the fear that it bringing to pitchers. ESPN ran a story way back when, and it explained how pitchers' stats are inflated when they pitch in the NL because they face pitchers.

I hope he does go to the Mets too, since I want him out of the AL East.

I guess that's just a matter of semantics. I've seen Selig and Fehr do that too. Come on, you knew what he meant. It's a common baseball question. But, let's end this now and move on, ok?

Hey, I have no problem with either of you no am I upset in the least. When I looked at the time, I really didnt see him asking if they were favourites. There are many posts, especially pertaining to the Celtics, where people asked a similar question and said that if they dont win, Rivers should be fired. Same idea here, for me, anyways.

But like I said, I have no problem whatsoever. At OS we like to shun arguments but we all know they make for the best sports talk. Either way, yes. Good opinions by both of you and yes, lets move on!

            Anyways...

I think that if the Mets got Johan and Pedro returned to health then that would be the best 1-2 punch in baseball. You would have to take the Mets in a 5 game series over anyone in the NL...(Hate to say it)...Because Santana, Martinez, and Maine would give opposing offenses a lot of trouble...Again depending on the health of Martinez.

I really fear a trade like this and hope and pray that Santana stays put or goes to Boston.

I dont think Pedro is ever going to be the same pitcher..but hey, HGH could help though Now to answer your question, I think Santana makes any team better, but knowing the Mets luck, he might turn into another Glavine
