i bet a lot of those "talant contracts" don't include doing voice-overs for video games....so it would cost a pretty $$ to get the anchors for a video game.
Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.

      k_gun,

you exactly right...so on top of limited time to get these guys to record their lines, they have ot pay them as well. Plus actors I would imagine give them more flexibility.

OW, Harry Kalas? The way he over enunciates and the pitch of his voice is like listening to gears grinding. I think the best would be Uecker, Scully, Al Michaels (saw him do games on Classic), and Costas (although his strength may not come across in a vg.

              perhaps a feature for ps3 /xbox-next....

let the USER (us) RECORD OUR OWN LINES of commentary...and have some sort of VOICE MODULATER change our voice to that of an anouncer of our choice (not even sure is this would be possible)

Please... don't say Scully!!! He's... OLD!!!

When will they have the three man booth? ASB was supposed to have it last year, and didn't have it this year either.

Scully may be old but he's still got a great delivery and he's the only "modern" (meaning TV) broadcaster who can pull off announcing games by himself. He doesn't need a color guy. The man's voice is still golden after all these years unlike some of the great legends that have recently retired or are WAY up there like Ernie Harwell and Harry Kallas.

Vin Scully is like grating your nails on a chalkboard. He is the fountain of useless info, and he seems to hate the Dodgers when he calls the game.

                              Vin Scully is pretty good...

No longer are we going to recognize the voice of our teams becuase the announcers are getting less memorable. That and some of the broadcasts seem to change guys every year so it's hard to get used to them.

I think it will be rare to see the Vin Scullys, Phil Rizzuto's, Harry Carey in 10 years. Instead it will be some broadcast team that has the "radio" homogonized sound.
