Actually, since Clemens is suing Mcnamee, the burden is on Clemens to prove Mcnamee is lying.

the hearings coming up in front of congress are all about protecting the main investigator's rat and proving that Clemens is a liar.

If Clemens has something to hide, then he is the craziest poker player of all time.

In an internet forum, however, people have the latitude to go by what makes the most sense. No one is tethered to "beyond a reasonable doubt" or even "preponderence of the evidence."

Well, it looks like Clemens and McNamee are the only two that will be there tomorrow. I am thoroughly disgusted with the fact that Clemens has been going around and kissing *** to the Congress members who will be present tomorrow. That is pretty suspicious to me. If a certain member here is so worried about being fair and following legal standards, how is this not being brought up? I don't believe that McNamee has had the same opportunities or would be as welcomed.

I doubt that McNamee had the chance to go around and take photos, sign autographs and hold private meetings with members of congress. Roger seems to have been kissing a lot of butt which I think makes him look pretty bad. Plus, his lawyer hasn't been saying the brightest things either.

Clemens said that he would meet with anyone and everyone that wanted to meet with him and that is what he is doing. A lot of people were saying "yea right, hell just plead the 5th" when he stated that he would answer any questions, but he obviously wasnt BS'n.

Now people are criticizing him for talking with anyone and everyone that wanted to meet with him? Again, if he is guilty then Clemens is the craziest poker player of all time. If he were trying to manufacture a story, individually meeting with 15 or so congressmen increases his chances of contradicting himself.

and again, it has been stated that anyone who was deposed has the opportunity to meet with committee members. This seems to be the first committee on capital hill that you have followed. You dont seem to understand what happens at them.

While you can surely question McNamee's character you can most certainly do the same for Clemens. Throwing the bat splitting at Piazza in '00 WS isn't exactly the most sane response in that situation. It's quite obvious Clemens competitiveness has clouded his judgment in the past.

That seems alright on the face of it but then he goes on to say that doctors for the league and trainers from his own team instructed him and other players on how to take steroids effectively.

If there's an ounce of truth to all that then this whole Roger Clemens thing may look like a day at the picnic for MLB.

The only issue I have with that is Rocker has done nothing but throw people under the bus since he hasn't been in the league. It's almost as if he's clinging to any sort of spotlight available to him.

I believe his comments about the failed test though. From the sounds of it, even knowing he failed the test, they really couldn't do anything legally regarding it since it was against the law for them to know.

Maybe test him but I'm sure the MLBPA would've been involved. They aren't exactly guilt-free yet somehow are going severely over looked in everything.

McNamee was a team trainer for the Blue Jays.

Clemens obviously pitched with a mean streak on the mound (like Nolan Ryan and many other great pitchers did), but OFF of the mound he has always been one of the "good guys". He has tried to help as many kids as just about anyone in baseball.

i dont know if he used or not. I certainly dont know that he is guilty. They havent proven ****. Even if he did experiment (again, dont know if he did), singling him out is BS. With everything Clemens has done for the game, it was irresponsible to put him on that report with such little to go on (and a big part of the section in the report on Clemens has reportedly already been discredited)

Im not automatically going to buy anything and everything that rat McNamee says. I understand the situations surrounding McNamee and the Mitchell report, and im definitely not going to automatically buy all of the crap that they are selling like some suckers are.

MLB has handled this entire thing like crap and it should be obvious that it's a witch hunt in search of scapegoats to take the heat off of themselves. Its not going to work in the long run though. They arent going to be able to absolve themselves of responsibility for this era, and they arent going to remove the cloud that hovers over that entire era. It doesnt matter how many scapegoats MLB finds.

When he named Pettite people thought that was a lie until he admitted it.

He should of used the Pettite excuse (did it once and regretted it) or the Bonds excuse (didn't know it was steroids). Maybe Roger convinced himself the steroids were B12. I think he is starting to believe his own lies.

Pettitte asked out of testifying publicly because he did not want to hurt Clemens on national television.

Waxman’s inclination to relieve Pettitte from testifying indicates Pettitte supported McNamee’s allegations that Clemens used steroids and human growth hormone during his deposition.

McNamee’s lawyers have said that Pettitte talked with McNamee about Clemens’ use of HGH.
