McNamee’s lawyers have said that Pettitte talked with McNamee about Clemens’ use of HGH.

LOL there is yet another change of story from McNamee. That is opposite to what McNamee has been quoted as saying at an earlier time. Credibility? Who cares about credibility lol?

It's going to be very interesting to see what happens in the hearing. You would think that if Pettitte was a good witness for the committee that they would want to use him in front of the cameras, being that the committee is very concerned with not looking bad...but what do i know

it's interesting that all of the quotes released to the press are from McNamee's attorneys'. For someone that supposedly has such a good case, it seems they are desperately trying to affect public perception.

Well, it's not a trial, it's just a hearing and the committee members are just as influenced by public statements, innuendo, and speculation as the average citizen.

The Rocket's ship appears to be sinking and they're taking on more water than they can pump out.

It's sad that these hearings have turned into the spectacle they have become rather than actually trying to do some good.

Not much to discuss with you from here on out. Your mind is made up regardless of anything that happens. Clemens could say he flat out did take something and you still wouldn't believe it.

Pettite is a good witness, that is why he was interviewed. They got all the info from him so they don't need him anymore.

I will say that it is a little unfair to Clemens to have Pettite's deposition read in front of God and everyone and he's not there to say it personally.

I agree with this. I think it is a little to grandious to have dismissed everyone else but Clemens and McNamee. They are not the only two people involved in this and only having those two appear before Congress will make this an even greater spectacle.

Newsday, citing confidential sources, reported that during a workout in 2002, Pettitte asked McNamee: "How come you don't give me the stuff you give Roger?" McNamee reportedly replied "Because it's illegal."

Clemens, however, says in his affidavit that Pettitte was mistaken in thinking that the conversation was about steroids or HGH, Newsday reported.

Clemens said that he would meet with anyone and everyone that wanted to meet with him and that is what he is doing. A lot of people were saying "yea right, hell just plead the 5th" when he stated that he would answer any questions, but he obviously wasnt BS'n.

Now people are criticizing him for talking with anyone and everyone that wanted to meet with him? Again, if he is guilty then Clemens is the craziest poker player of all time. If he were trying to manufacture a story, individually meeting with 15 or so congressmen increases his chances of contradicting himself.

and again, it has been stated that anyone who was deposed has the opportunity to meet with committee members. This obviously isnt the first committee on capital hill. However, it does seem to be the first one that you have followed. You dont seem to understand what happens at them.

Unless your definition of signing autographs differs from mine, I think this article confirms that Roger has been given some preferrential treatment in all of this. To me this sounds like a conflict of interest if there ever has been one for the members of Congress. I don't blame Clemens for doing this, but I do find it kind of peculiar if he is telling the truth. I just don't see why you are so quick to dismiss or criticize McNamee and praise Clemens. They both have done some questionable things so far, but it seems that others are offering statements that corroborate much of what McNamee's side is claiming and thus I am beginning to believe that Clemens did take something. If I am wrong, I have no problems admitting it.

Well I guess I should have chosen one of the other articles that state the same exact thing. They all say that Clemens was going around, posing for pictures and signing autographs for the people that will be questioning him. If you are so worried about legality, innocent until proven guilty and everything being "fair", why aren't you upset about this?

if some congressmen that were part of the committee took pictures and autographs, then that could be unprofessional. It might have been other people around that werent part of the committee.

It probably wasnt a big deal. I doubt there were many instances like that. They are senators. I doubt many of them get impressed or awestruck very easily.

anyway, in every committee hearing like this, they offer the people being deposed an opportunity to meet with members of the committee. Everyone has the opportunity. Why wouldnt they want to hear what the people involved have to say? If you follow the proceedings tomorrow, i bet that will be brought up. It is not rare to this situation (although in most cases I doubt as many people take them up on it and actually meet with everyone they can before hand like Clemens did).
