Wow can you be any more of a Cardinals homer as well. Daric Barton as AL MVP? Give me a break the guy will be lucky to stay in the MLB for the whole year.Comment

Sure they overpaid him, but the contract by itself doesn't make him a bad player. He is above average, and gets rallys started. If that's what you think whatever, that is your opinion, this is mine. It is no homerism at all, Barton has power.Comment

thats the thing, he doesn't get rallies started. his career OBP is .348 and thats awful. he hurts the team more than helps the team when he leads off with that kind of OBP.
he is not above average as there is only one asset of his game that is, and it's his speed, and even then he doesn't steal a ton of bases and his defense kinda blows. he may be one of the most overrated players ever in baseballComment

Dude he's a f'in rookie and he's not even gonna even get the bulk of the playing time at 1B with Dan Johnson, Jack Cust and the possibility of Mike Sweeney making the team. How the hell would a rookie win the MVP? Stop being a damn homer, christ.Comment

The White Sox are a whole lot more likely to do the latter. The Twins have as good a shot at contending as the Sox do (ie, very slim).Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Pinerio has had some solid seasons in his career, and has matured and was actually pretty solid for the Cards last season. Clement still has a lot of talent, and a change of scenary is something that helps players. He isn't really that old, and has had most of his success in the NL. Cards will shock teams, 86 wins is the least.Comment
