Can some of you guys post some Manage Only Mode impressions??
I'm extrememly curious about this mode with pitch counts generated and the depth of this franchise. Thanks a bunch.be who you are and say what you feel, because those who matter don't mind, and those that mind, don't matter.Tags: None -
Re: Manage Only Mode
manage only is pretty good. much better than the manage mode that HH had on PC. Games go by fast if you use the generated pitch count also.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: Manage Only Mode
I like it alot, but I find that its not real realistic. I don't know, maybe I'm doing something wrong (Using the power swing too much?). But I find that I strike out way too much in the manage only mode. So far I've had 3 complete games against me and tons of k's (around 12-13 a game). I'm the Phillies (Obviously), but they shouldn't strike out this much. Maybe its just dumb luck, as I've only played about 6-7 games of my franchise so far.Comment

Re: Manage Only Mode
On ASB2003 I would use the generated pitch count, but pitchers last longer on 2004, so I don't need it. So far I'm one win against 10 loses, all but three games simmed with my Portland Green Sox. I'm hoping things improve and it's not impossible to manage and win at the same time.Comment

Re: Manage Only Mode
I am curious about everyone's experience with the "Power" vs "Contact" options in Manage-Only mode. Seems that my batters are striking out too often using Power, and they hit some really wimpy grounders using Contact mode.
I know there isn't a lot of MO players out there, but please post your findings here.Comment

Re: Manage Only Mode
Honestly, with the 03 version the power vs contact option seemed meaningless. It seemed like they swung the same regardless of the two, struck out regardless, and hit home-runs the same. With this version I swear the hitters take a more loping swing when you hit power, but they're either lining fouls down the line or completely missing. I think I've managed one or two nice hits with the button-- but of course I have an expansion team and the players are pretty sad. I've been trying to work the count and get a 2-0 count at least before using the option. I am hoping it's no coincidence that the game is much smarter than it's predecessor, but also I'm hoping that managing a team isn't a hopeless cause. I'm 0 for 6 at this point.Comment

Re: Manage Only Mode
Played 3 games using MO. All three games ended with a score of 3-2 and my team struck out around 10 times in each game. I was using the Angels, Giants and Blue Jays, so I definitely had good offence. But somehow in Manage-Only mode, the scores are always pretty low.
I will try a few more games tomorrow. Hopefully this won't continue cuz I really want MO to work in this game.Comment
