    Re: Interesting tidbit reguarding MVP

Ok, Live this year is a bad example because its not that bad. Its not 2k3, but its not garbage. Live from 99 thru 02 was garbage. But its not like Sega didnt have some stinkers, WSB 2k1, 2k2, NHL 2k, NCAA 2k2, just to name a few.

Truth is, I like Madden (Please dont hurt me), and while I had DC, 2k was my game of choice and I honestly believed that it was better than Madden. I later realized the folly of MY ways, and went back. And dont get it twisted, I aint no fool, I never even came close to buying TP on PS2, because it was trash - to me, and almost everyone else.

EA gets ragged on because its most visable. If your in the lead, everyone is quick to take shots at you, just like they do with Sony(Ps2) and MS(Windows). Because we love to bring down those on top (Michael Jackson is a prime example of this - WTF is up with that Witch Doctor sh*t,...........I thought things couldnt get any weirder,..........................I was wrong).

Anyway, 7 yrs ago, everybody, and I do mean everybody thought EA was the shizznick, before they went megaton and now people have alot of Haterade in their system towards them. Personally, I could care less if they made the worst Baseball Game or the Best, because Im going to buy what I like, like most of us out there. And thats the "Only way to Fly"

    BTW,

How come no one has mentioned the Head of the Secret Society of Game Developers, aka the StoneCutters, none other than Nintendo. They are so hush hush that not even their own employees know what game their programming for. If they release some info early, you might as well consider it the last day of you life, because the world is offically going to end.

good points, Blaise, especially about nobody getting on Nintendo's *** for being shrouded in such secrecy.

Graphik, I know you don't buy EA's games, but you are in the minority, my friend. The sad truth is that most of the game buying public could give a horse's *** about a review of a game. They either see a commercial on tv, or go to the store and see the game on the shelf.

You say EA's marketing and advertising is as close to putting a gun to the consumer's head. How is that? By having commercials that grab your attention? News flash : what is the point of every ad on TV? Is EA any worse than, say, Acclaim, with their ads? At least EA's ads show actual in game footage at times.

I am not on EA's nuts or anything, either. I could give a sh!t who makes what game, as long as I enjoy playing it. EA is not purposely trying to defraud anyone, either. They just try to put out games that will appeal to all people, not just the sim heads or the casual players who like more of an arcade slant. They want to sell as many games as they can, and can you say that they have not succeeded at that?

Only reason I call EA satan is b/c of their mediocore games they've been putting out for the last few years.

I brought NBA Live, you kno why, b/c of its name. Same with Madden. It seems that every other company puts more efford into their games than EA. They know you will buy it, so they put together a piece of crap and put their name on it. While they site in fancy offices smoking cigars our something.

what it comes down to is, at lease other Companys are trying to make a good product and EA is just making a game to fatten their pockets. At lease that what it seems to me. Thats why so many ppl hate EA and thats the reason I call them the devil. If EA made good games like they use to, then no one would get flamed b/c they like EA.

You really cant compare EA to any other company b/c they've been out longer than everyone with the exception to Sega.

<hr /></blockquote><font class="post"> Yeah cause we all know Madden and Ncaa are total crap

              Marketing HuH?

Sega(was a 1st Party Dev), MS, Nin all have serious cake. So does EA. Shoot, I would see tons of NFL 2k3, NBA 2k3 commercials during games and before the seasons started. And they still got their *** handed to them in the marketplace.

To take a quote from a EA higher up:

"The could sell an empty box and did better than they did the previous year"

When #1 competitor has a total lack of disregard for you, then they must something that you dont.

Does EA have a name, sure. But so does Sega, MS, and Nin, Rockstar, 3DO, Activision, Acclaim, Eidos, Square, Enix, and the list goes on and on.

The reality is Sega aint doing anything to stop the EA freight train thats murdering the competition right now. And since Sega decided to quit producing GC games, and EA just partnered w/Nin to have new "innovations" (A Sega favorite word) Ea is going to kill them in total sales even more. Its funny that Sega wont go in the PC market, and give some weak excuses about such an effort. I guess they know something we dont.

Personally, I like Sega games, but dont blame their poor lack of sales on anything but EA may just have a better overall product - in some cases. Plus, people want fun games, and while some of their games are fun, they may not be as fun as EA ones.

All the companies you mentioned may have a name, but to most "casual" buyers, EA and sports games go hand in hand. They don't have anywhere near as high of a brand awareness factor as EA with the general public.

I like sega don't get me wrong, but how can they have huge oversights in their games...I mean no multi user franchises should be standard now. There interface isn't near as nice as EA's. Half the games you can't use created players in franchise. In the words of the Hurricane "Wassup wit dat?!" Sega does some things better; EA does more better. I'm really liking nfl2k3 on my box right now but it has more glaring flaws than Madden does. But it's fun at the same time. You act like NOONE knows about sega, that's b.s. tons of people know about them they just agree with the points i've made. EA is far superior in many areas and is much more polished.

Does everyone think I'm a sega fanboy?

Actually I'm not, I purchased Live and madden last year. I still love Madden but I like 2k3 more cause its something different. I did'nt care much for live.

And when has this converastion turned into marketing campaigns. All I said is their marketing is like putting a gun to your head since sponsordeath said no one is forcing you to buy a game. We all know why EA Sports outsells the comp. Thats not the point I was tryna make.

The point I'm tryna make is that IMO EA is falling off. For the last couple of years they have put out pure junk, you know why, b/c I purchased that junk. After playing games from other companies I realized how EA is basically ripping consumers off. Thats why there the devil.

tell me, what EA sports games do you currently own. And why did you purchase it?

And as I said before, you cant compare any company to EA because they've been out there longer. I said you can except Sega, but now that I think about it, EA was out way before Sega also.
