I agree, as I did before, that EA puts out a lot of inferior games. However, I don't see it is them "falling off". I think it's more that the competitor's games have gotten a lot better over the years

Since you say a lot of the competitors games has gotten better, EA hasn't taken their games to another level. You don't see a problem with this? I agree with Graphik, they have been falling off. Why do you think they scrapped the Live Series and started over...the Triple Play series. Look how long it's taken them to recognize that competitors have gotten better. While the competiton was just getting its feet wet, EA could continue to put out crap. They can't do that anymore. I've been a Madden player from the beginning, well not the beginning because it was first on PC...but since it was first on Sega Genesis. I bought Madden this year...loved it. Okay...I got an xbox in November and around that time Circuit City had NFL 2K3 for 19.99 on xbox. I picked it up, took it home...played for 10 minutes....HATED IT! Since I got live, I decided to give it another shot. I'm finding that this game is on the same level with Madden. It's better than Madden in some areas.

It used to be, anything that EA puts out. I'm picking it up because I knew it would be good. Today, I'm skeptical, because EA has been falling off. Did you buy NBA Live 2001 when the PS2 first came out...that's a perfect example...how could EA ruin such a great franchise?

Sega is stepping it up with their sports games...it EA wants my 50 bucks...EA better answer the call! I know i'm only one person, but that's one more sale that they could have if they put out a good product.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I never said I didn't see a problem with EA not being more proactive when it comes to actually improving their games. I wish they would, frankly. Every one of their games has the potential to be a really good game, but they always fall short in one or more areas.

What I said is that I highly doubt EA purposely makes crappy games because they know people will buy it anyway. They probably have rested on their laurels at times and gotten by on their name alone, but I am sure in their minds they are putting out games worthy of the customer's money. It isn't like they only spend 3 months developing games just so they can get them out the door and make a buck.

                Re: Interesting tidbit reguarding MVP

I would like to Add this quickie:

Sega, as an example, has franchises for the following sports:

Football, Basketball, Baseball, Tennis and Hockey, as listed by their SS website.

EA has FB, BaskB, BB, Hockey, Soccer, Golf, Racing, Rugby, Cricket, and their Big Lineup.

Now you compare the two, or compare EA to any publisher (sports, in this case), and no one puts out as many games across so many venues as EA. Also, since they put out more than anyone else, logic would dictate that they have the biggest chance at both sucess and failure. Larger teams, more people, less people that may share the teams vision in respect to the game their making.

Am I trying to make an excuse for them, no. I am trying to show the reality of the situation. Sports games are the HARDEST to make. In other genres, for the most part, your trying to develop a game that is from your imagination. In sports, your trying to actively create a game the fully re-creates that sports' experience. Its never really going to happen the way we imagine it. Nobody will ever be satisfied with a sports game, no matter how good it is. Its the sad truth, but we should applaude those who try to give us our money's worth with every effort. Ea, Sega, MS, Acclaim, Act, and all others who make sports games owe our thanks, not our hate.

If there were no video games, then Sports would just be,...........................................Spor ts.

I was only saying that everyone eventually makes a game that at least some people think is a bad game and it doesn't mean they are lazy or trying to screw you. And when i said i didnt like nintendo i only meant i dont like almost any games for the gamecube that are exclusive yet. Im definately not the most open minded person in the world. you assume that everything EA has said they are trying to do in this game is a lie because if you watch the videos and read the interview they are trying to implement everything you've been bitchin about. But keep on telling everyone how evil EA is and how it's a big conspiracy for them to steal your money. Even if the game fails, the tutorials and interviews proves they are at least trying to improve contrary to popular belief on this board.

The point of Nintendo was that Miyamoto has made tons of games that i think are really good for the old systems. i dont assume that if he makes something i dislike now that it means hes lazy or screwing me thats all im saying, im not trying to trash games before they come out for people unlike you.

I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

When have I started a thread telling everybody how evil EA is? Once again, that is my opinion. If I dont like EA, dont get mad at me cause of my beliefs. When have I said that I think everything they say is a lie? Where are you coming up with this stuff?

I tell you what, why dont you crawl back under that pebble you came from, get a tutor and learn how to read between the lines. Cause you killin me man, seriously.
