    Re: Bonds to the Rays?

I would actually like to see Bonds spend a season in the AL. Just going by last season alone, he can still hit. If he didn't have to run down fly balls, and take a strategically timed day off, he could still put up some big numbers.
    I still think Texas, maybe.

I think he's going to end up playing in Japan. If he were to stay in the U.S. though the Rays would be a good fit for him. He'll be a huge improvement over Gomes and Floyd in the DH spot.

Getting Bonds is a great move, should they choose to do it. He will help on offense and he'll help business-wise.
they are stuck in the mud in a stacked division, and are a MLB minor league team. They'll never get better than 3rd ever, even that's a stretch for this franchise. While they are young, people want to watch stars, not trade fodder for the MLB trading deadline.

They were stacked with youth last year, but failed to address any trade possibilities to help with the bullpen to make them more competitive. They are worse than the marlins, who at least won two world series championships before going cheap each time.

He may not be able to leave if with his legal trouble hanging over his head.

I read somewhere that Bonds may have trouble getting into Canada to play the Jays if he signed with Tampa.

That's about when I realized what a dumb signing this would be.
