Re: ESPN THE MAGAZINE ranks the best players in baseball by position
That list looks accurate except for outfield. Outfield was butchered. I like Carl Crawford but he's not Top 5 in the OF in all of baseball.
Matt Holliday has one breakout year and everyone wants him to be the messiah. I like Holliday and agree he'll be a great player but not Number one just yet.
They dissed Vlad because of an injury filled year. That's just wrong.
People need to stop praising Sizemore. How many years of average seasons does he need to have before people stop guessing he'll have an MVP-caliber year? Every year it's the same thing with him. He's been nominated a favorite to win MVP I think every year for the past three seasons and all he's done is career highs of .290, 28 HR, 81 RBI, 33 SB. Boredom. Again, good player but not top 5 or an MVP. Sorry.
It is obvious however that defense didn't matter in this list. I think Lowell is getting overrated by peers and fans but he's better than middle of the pack.
And I'm surprised ESPN took their heads out of their butts to give Bedard the number three spot. Never would have seen that from them.SAN ANTONIO SPURSComment
