Please, someone make up their mind !!!!!!!

I have been reading posts in this forum about the upcoming games for PS2 for the past few months now... Now that some of these games have been released, and the others have had actual developers come one and answer questions about who's on the game or not.. If you guys have to have the real names on the game, they will be there... If you need to change a few, you could do so in less time than it took for you to get off your asses and go buy it, or walk to the mail box to get it out. Having said that, I would like to know a few things before i spend my hard earned cash to get a game that will hold my interest until next years titles come out... For one, I read alot of posts from 14 and 15 year olds that didnt have to go through playing baseball games on Atari 2600, and Intelevision back in the 70's and 80's... So any games that come out now will be an improvement on that.. But reading reports about runners scoring from third on fly balls and 2 outs in High Heat, to ASB have stupid base runner decision skills. If games today can't have the logic of these rules and attributes, then is it really worth it to spend money on them... I could sit down and play SNK Baseball on 8-bit Nintendo, and know that won't ever happen... So what the hell is going on? Then in the same threads as these reports, I see that people are asking developers for the minor league rosters. Why waste ample opportunity to ask a developer a question like this, when you could pry into his mind about the interface, and gameplay AI. These kids need to be banned from asking any further questions in my opinion. Now, all I see about MVP and WSB, are people saying they will suck because of this and that. How do you guys know, have you played them? Do you even know anyone who has? I don't want to have to read through stupid questions to find info on the things that really matter.... These are the things that should matter when deciding which game to purchase and spend valuable time playing.....(not in any specific order either)

    1) Graphics(only because I paid $200 for a game system, the graphics should be life like, but who cares if their noses are a bit crooked looking when they are walking up to the plate): Graphics are important only during gameplay, I'd personally like to see more of an option like the old Triple Play had with the manual/roving cameras on replay. They can put them in football and basketball games, but not baseball, WTF is up with that? These companies, know if they put out the PERFECT game, they wont sell any the following year, thats why you see things taken away from the previous years versions that were well liked, but add other things, that may not be there in next years version.

    2) CPU AI: Even the old atari baseball didnt have issues with walks, CPU stealing/baserunning, and even sacrafice bunting.
Games out today have more details involved, such as pitching changes, pinch hitters, etc. But whats the point if the CPU is too stupid to make the correct decisions.

    3) Gameplay: I truely think the most important feature in a video baseball game is what we would call the interest or fun factor. This game should hold my interest for at least one year. Granted it takes more to please some others going by these boards obviously, but come on?. If they can't make a game thats challenging and has a certain accuracy for baseball, then why do they even bother put them out year after year? Cause they know suckers like us will spend our money, or our parents money to buy them. They need to make a game that knows all the rules of baseball.I mean, hell, it was only about 2 or 3 years ago, they implimented the infield fly rule into a baseball game.

Basically my point is, if you guys have the game already, and you want to express your opinions in these boards, put some facts behind your opinions, or else your wasting your time writing, and we're wasting our time reading. If you dont like a game because the graphics are choppy, then just simply state whats so choppy about them. If you think the CPU is ignorant, than state what it does to make you think that. It's not hard at all to express these items when you are putting up posts that say "this game sucks, dont buy this one"... back up your post with details.

These companies put these games out just like car companies do with cars, They know if they put out the same car year after year, just with different headlights, eventually they will break down, and you'll have to spend more money on a new one, the only difference is video games dont break down in the same sense, and do it within the first year, but if they built cars like they used to, you would see more more older cars on the road. I still see more cars from the 50's and 60's in good condition, than i do from the 70's and 80's... But i still would never buy a game that came out 3 years ago, thinking I would enjoy it. Games still will never be perfect because of the sales numbers these companies need year in and year out.... if these companies would realize that they could make a killing off the perfect game, and just sell a cheaper rosters update for those who really need that crap every year, they would make more than enough money.

Still I'm tempted to wait for WSB and MVP to comeout before i go and pick up HH. But I can't stand to have to read through posts where kids think they know anything about a baseball game, especially one that hasn't even been released.

I Agree with you 100 percent.I have high heat for the ps2.I bought it the first day it came out and i had a bad disc.I took it back and got a new one and have not had a single problem. The gameplay is great and is the closest thing to the real game i have ever played .I have had mostly close tight games and was swept in a 4 game series against the mariners. The graphics are good but not the best.If you buy the game i would turn the zoom view off and put the batting view on low.this game has excellent comtrol you can snag a liner in the hole or dive for a ground ball with no hesitation.I play all the basebaqll games every year and none of them to this point have been better.I think world series 2k3 will be good to.IF It helps im 26 years old.
