1) Graphics(only because I paid $200 for a game system, the graphics should be life like, but who cares if their noses are a bit crooked looking when they are walking up to the plate): Graphics are important only during gameplay, I'd personally like to see more of an option like the old Triple Play had with the manual/roving cameras on replay. They can put them in football and basketball games, but not baseball, WTF is up with that? These companies, know if they put out the PERFECT game, they wont sell any the following year, thats why you see things taken away from the previous years versions that were well liked, but add other things, that may not be there in next years version.
2) CPU AI: Even the old atari baseball didnt have issues with walks, CPU stealing/baserunning, and even sacrafice bunting.
Games out today have more details involved, such as pitching changes, pinch hitters, etc. But whats the point if the CPU is too stupid to make the correct decisions.
3) Gameplay: I truely think the most important feature in a video baseball game is what we would call the interest or fun factor. This game should hold my interest for at least one year. Granted it takes more to please some others going by these boards obviously, but come on?. If they can't make a game thats challenging and has a certain accuracy for baseball, then why do they even bother put them out year after year? Cause they know suckers like us will spend our money, or our parents money to buy them. They need to make a game that knows all the rules of baseball.I mean, hell, it was only about 2 or 3 years ago, they implimented the infield fly rule into a baseball game.
Basically my point is, if you guys have the game already, and you want to express your opinions in these boards, put some facts behind your opinions, or else your wasting your time writing, and we're wasting our time reading. If you dont like a game because the graphics are choppy, then just simply state whats so choppy about them. If you think the CPU is ignorant, than state what it does to make you think that. It's not hard at all to express these items when you are putting up posts that say "this game sucks, dont buy this one"... back up your post with details.
These companies put these games out just like car companies do with cars, They know if they put out the same car year after year, just with different headlights, eventually they will break down, and you'll have to spend more money on a new one, the only difference is video games dont break down in the same sense, and do it within the first year, but if they built cars like they used to, you would see more more older cars on the road. I still see more cars from the 50's and 60's in good condition, than i do from the 70's and 80's... But i still would never buy a game that came out 3 years ago, thinking I would enjoy it. Games still will never be perfect because of the sales numbers these companies need year in and year out.... if these companies would realize that they could make a killing off the perfect game, and just sell a cheaper rosters update for those who really need that crap every year, they would make more than enough money.
Still I'm tempted to wait for WSB and MVP to comeout before i go and pick up HH. But I can't stand to have to read through posts where kids think they know anything about a baseball game, especially one that hasn't even been released.
