Joeboo and Redbird, I agree wholeheartedly with your accounts of the gameplay in HighHeat. It plays one fine game of baseball. But I am after more than just the sim aspects of a game. I want the game to genuinely reflect the sport that it simulates. It's fine and dandy to have all the minute details of baseball down. But what about presenting them to the fullest extent of the technology of the day? Why serve up steak from the bottom of a trach can? Graphics alone do not make a game great. That goes without saying. But in this day and age, gameplay alone does not make a great game either. I see some sites rating HH a 9/90 and above. I can never give ANY game that high a score unless they have ALL of the aspects (sound, graphics, presentation, gameplay) in polished order. If a game has all things going for it, then people will want to PLAY that GAME. There is a fierce NEXT-GEN battle going on. And as far as I can see, 3DO is not in the game yet. They are falling behind. I wish that HH was their bread and butter. But maybe ArmyMen is it. HighHeat is really showing its age. Even with all the improvements. Over the years I have had my share of games with "gameplay". Now I just want a GOOD game to PLAY. Only when it is a well developed and polished piece of software will I call it great.
