From what I read about the fielding and auto jump/dive I dont think I'm going with this one. Basically auto jump/dive is not accurate as it should be resulting in players diving/jumping for balls when its not necessary, and the user has no choice but to deal with it. F THAT...WSB here i come.

My sentiments exactly. Not being able to control the jumping/diving was something I could live with.
But having the CPU make fielders dive out of position and miss the catch is a..... gamekiller! In all seriousness I love playing defense in videogame baseball and I think I might get WSB now instead of MVP.
It looks close but I think all of those who said "wait 'til next year" were probably right.Comment

Trademark EA style of a few button presses to gameplay. Harold Reynolds delivers a fun tutorial that gets you pumped to play. 8.0
Graphics
Players look and move just like their real-life counterparts. Too bad they make more catches with their backs than their mitts. 8.0
Sound
Krukow and Kuiper are in top form... when they're not repeating themselves. The enthusiastic crowd ranks among the best of any sports game. 8.0
Gameplay
The pitching meter completely changes the way you play, and will want to play all baseball games. Turns every throw into a test of skill. 9.0
Lasting Appeal
After ten years in Franchise mode, you'll want to play again. It's unfortunate the game lacks so many of the other features fans have grown accustomed to. 8.0
OVERALL SCORE (not an average) 8.5

...it makes no sense to get the high a score and then say it leaves something to be desired that fans have grown accustomed to......?
