He's right that is a tough question to answer on the fly, no matter who you name your still going to leave someone off that you want,“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

It's a very common mistake, hell even broadcasters in Toronto mess up his last name from time to time. Glad to see Bush pays attention to the Doc. I think he's got Cy Young stuff again this year.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Utley is a great choice, hits for average, and power. I would have to go with Josh Beckett for my pitcher though.Comment

Josh Beckett may have better numbers but Halladay is a throwback. The guy is economical with his pitch counts and routinely goes deep in ball games. There's a reason the guy has more complete games in the last few years then entire pitching rotations!Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I by no means think Halladay is a bad choice. He is an excellent pitcher. I just happen to like Beckett more, thats all. Utley would be my 1st choice at bat, because the only thing more that you could want out of him is a little more speed, but he isn't exactly what one would call slow.Comment

Aside from Johan Santana, there's no pitcher I'd want on my team before Roy Halladay.Comment

Soto and Zambrano would be hard for me to pass up...
Soto is going to be great (I hope) and I want a quality backstop...and like Jistic (I think) says...give me 25 Zambranos and I'll take my chances.
I know there are better pitchers...but I like the NL, and I want a pitcher that can hit...give me Big Z and Owings!Australian Rules Football...just sayin'Comment

I'm surprised and impressed by his pick. Since he doesn't play for one of the big teams, he doesn't get a lot of the press/media attention/hype as some other pitchers receive.Comment
