If the Devil Rays are being smart then they already know that giving a pitcher anyting longer than a three year deal is pretty much stupid. The most I'd ever give a pitcher is four and that fourth year would be an option. A Team Option.

Also, I doubt Kazmir would sign a long term deal when he knows that he'll get that magical seven year deal when he's done with this deal and it'll be for 100 million. Someone out there will give it to him and it'll probably end up being a great deal.

For me, no matter how many times those deals end up being good, I'll never be convinced that they'll ever be any good.
