    Batting:Cursor C/P swings Vs Cursor w/Power Meter

I don't really care for the non cursor batting, so i've been using the power meter w/cursor. Have any of you tried it opposed to just the normal cursor with contact and power swings?

Which one do you guys find more challenging and maybe you guys can post your impressions of both.

Thanks ahead and i'm loving the game so far.

Played about 5 games cursor w/power meter and yet to hit a home run although i seem to get a fair amout of hits. I have been facing the Dodgers so maybe thats why i'm struggling with the long ball.

    Anyone chime in

I haven't played it too long, but I've been using the timed hitting. I tried the meter for a couple of batters and couldn't get used to it. Will try to play a game with it today. BTW someone said the timed hitting was just pressing the button, it isn't. It's just like the cursor batting, but without the cursor. You have to move the analog stick to meet the ball. You can swing over and under the ball. I like it though, haven't hit any homeruns yet.

Get used to the cursor guys, it's like trying to play Madden, NFL2K3, NBA Live, or NBA2K3 with the D-Pad. It is not nearly as good as the analog pad - the future is now.

Are you sure about that, the fact that you have to move the stick to meet the ball? That's what High Heat is like, and I really like it. However, everything I have read said that timed hitting is just hitting the button.

Also, are there power and contact swings with timed hitting?

                Thanks.

Re: Batting:Cursor C/P swings Vs Cursor w/Power Meter

I highly encourage people to give the meter batting a good whirl. Nothing can compare to the feeling when you bat location was perfect, your timing was perfect, the meter was full and you really jack it. Think of the meter like a batter's stride. You start your stride as the pitcher is releasing the ball depending on what pitch you are guessing. Guess a fastball but get a changeup? Inevitably your stride will be off, so even though you make contact you will get no power behind it. It is insanely realistic. I found after playing Baseball Advance for a while last year you begin to forget the meter is even there, and its entirely a rythm thing.

Hitting a button and launching a homerun is fun. Guessing right and starting your stride at just the right time and nailing it in one fluid motion...well, its just as close to the feeling of real batting as I can imagine. If you find it to be difficult, move the cursor to the largest size until you really learn the timing of the pitches and the batters motion....you can always reduce it once you get comfortable after a few games. What a fantastic game.

i like the power meter, I just have a problem, my meter can hardly fill since I'm playing with my pitch speed on FAST and if I really wanna turn on a pitch but my meter ends up on 79%, if I hold it down until 100% or more I'll swing too late.

                        Lil help?

Can someone please tell me if the timing hitting does in fact require directional control (like HH) as a previous poster suggested?

Also, are there both power and contact swings when using timing hitting?

Thanks in advance for your help.
