Re: Updating the Rosters in MVP Thread

Xbox users obviously have to update manually, so this thread would still be a really good thing for them.

Pitcher Cory Lidle needs to be created and placed on the Blue Jays. (#2 Starter)

It might be helpful as we create the players, we post their attributes and ratings. Thoughts?

Correction about Pittsburgh roster- you need to release Sanders from the Giants, not from the Diamondbacks. Also, to make room for Suppan and Sanders on the Pirates roster, you can cut Pat Meares and Ron Villone.

stoncold, you can go to MLB.com and get the heights and weights for the players to help you make them accurate. You should also look at their stats their and be able to adjust their attributes to the type of player they are.

                          Ok, here we go.

                          NY METS

                          -Cuts:
                          1) Cut 1B M. Johnson from the Mets
                          2) Cut 3B R. Johnson from the Mets
                          3) Cut LF M. Christenson from the Mets
                          4) Cut RF T. Tarasco from the Mets
                          5) Cut RP K. Davis from the Mets
                          6) Cut RP D. Nickle from the Mets
                          7) Cut 3B J. Bell from the Diamondbacks
                          8) Cut 1B T. Clark from the Red Sox
                          9) Cut RP D. Osborne from the Cubs

                          -Sign:

                          3) RP D. Osborne to the Mets

That gives you 33 out of 40 players. Fill the remaining 7 spots with your choice of the following players that need to be created (and who you can get info on from ESPN.com or the Mets page on MLB.com)

Re: Updating the Rosters in MVP Thread

Ok, well that's one team down. By the way, I figured I'd say what sources I used.

First I went to ESPN.com's team page for the NY Mets and looked at all their transactions (click on "transactions") since January. This may give you some info right off the bat of transactions that need to be made.

Then I opened up two pages. 1) ESPN.com's roster page for the NY Mets. 2) MLB.com's NY Met's roster page. The latter is really helpful because it has links on the bottom left to all minor league rosters for that team as well.

Then, while both these pages were open, I went through MVP's roster and made the necessary changes by comparing all the rosters in front of me. Note that it's good to use all of these sources because some of them are inconsistent. Chances are if you can't find a player in any of the places mentioned above, he's not on the team. So anyway, if anyone wants to do their home/favorite team, that would be great and maybe we can get these rosters current.

By the way, this took me about half-an hour to do...not so bad. Let me know if there are any questions. Later
