Keep telling yourself that, there's always someone else to blame, another excuse to make.

This might be the stupidest thread I have ever read in my time as a member of Operation Sports, and I've seen my fair share of stupid threads.

Well, that much is obvious. Who cares about winning when you can just throw at a Cubs player? It's obvious what those Braves thugs are up to.

Why yes, yes it would be the same Soriano that does that. I guess now when the Cubs lose in the playoffs this year, assuming they get there, it will be Atlanta's fault because they hurt Soriano back on June 11th and ruined the rest of the season. These are the same fans that banished a man from town for interfering with a foul ball that "cost them the world series," even though it happend it Game 6 of the NLCS and they lost Game 7 the following night with him nowhere to be found at Wrigley.

Hell next time we play I say throw at them again so we can earn the title of this thread. That's right the Braves dont care about getting into the playoffs they just want to make sure the Cubs dont make it in by ruining their season.

I said it once I will say it again you guys from the NL Central are the most delusional fan base ever. You guys belong in the NBA forums. The only two groups that havent said anything off the wall so far are the Brewers and Astros fans. The Cubs were riding fine until this thread.

The bestest/worstest thread was the worst lol

I'd like to see where all this dirty play (besides the 2 games claimed by OP) has been in the past. Bobby Cox doesn't have the patience for idiotic play like that, being under .500 and wanting to win the East.

Don't Cub fans boo Soriano anyway with his defensive errors

Re: Braves up to the same old dirty shenanigans

I realize that they threw at Soriano after his multiple HR game.....but in all fairness, Soriano does love to watch his Home runs and I for one, as a die hard Cubs fan, Have never thought of the Braves as a dirty Orginization. Bobby Cox, Chipper Jones, John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, these are some of the best guys in baseball, both by how they play/manage the game and how they approach the game.

It does suck that the Soriano is out 4 to 6 weeks, but that is baseball. Ask any Braves fan and he will tell you about the 12 guys they have on the DL right now. I am sure that he did not have the intentions of hitting him, much less breaking his hand.i

We have a good enough lineup to maintain while Sori is out, and when he comes back, think of all the good playing time the bench and guys like Patterson, Hoffpauir and Fontenot will have had.....there is always a silver lining my friends.

Thanks for showing Cubs fans can be reasonable. I can understand someone being upset about how Soriano got hurt. But the opening post showed no rational, level-headed thought whatsoever. & it continued thruout.

Not a problem....Like I said I am huge Cubs fan, but I also love and respect the game of baseball as a whole. Im not a fan of Blanket statements like " Blank is a dirty orginization" I know there are dirty players, but there are a lot of great players also, who love and respect the game.

Thank you for your calm, reasonable, and rational post. I was beginning to think that there were no rational Cubs fans out there. The ones I know are very similar to the ones posting insane stuff on here about how dirty the Braves organization is. I've been a Braves fan for 25 years now and I've not seen anything to lead me to believe that this organization is "dirty" or ever has been. I've seen nothing but class from these guys for years, especially Smoltz, Glavine, and Jones, and Cox is one of the most respected managers in the game.

I think you're overreacting yves, I was at the game as well and in my opinion it wasnt intentional. Sh*t happens, it's baseball.

As for calling the Braves a dirty team I disagree. What about the 2003 NLDS where Kerry Wood had a very similar pitch that he threw to Sheffield which broke a bone in his hand taking him out of the series we eventually won...No one called Kerry or the Cubs dirty then.

The only dirty incident I can remember was the Robert Fick, first base punch deal. IIRC, he played sparingly after that and was released. I've been a braves fan as long as i can remember, and even remember when they signed Jim Presley as their answer to 3rd base.
