    Re: FatPitcher - Questions/Comments Thread

    FatPitcher.........couple of questions:

I'm not really into the franchise thing and play single seasons and controlling only one team. I was wondering if the CPU makes trades for other teams in season mode. I certainly hope not.

Also, do the scoreboards in places like Fenway Park show the real time score or does it stay blank like in MVP?

Wouldn't you rather have the game play as well as possible before things like rain and snow are put in? This just seems like too much fluff. I can think of many more things that can be put in to show more realism during a game than to have rain/snow outs, such as better baserunning/fielding animations, improvements to pitcher/batter interface, etc. I'm sure VC has thought of a lot of stuff already.

BTW, I think going from day to night would be an awesome thing to see. I don't think any other sports game has done this.

Great job on the game, FP... I'm really having a lot of fun with it.

-does pressing down hard on the throw pitch button affect velocity of the pitch?

No, but holding it down for more than .5 sec does. Also uses a little more stamina.

-when batting without a cursor, does the left thumbstick do anything? like can you pull an inside pitch, etc?

It doesn't do anything. Swing early to pull an inside pitch.

-and lastly, why no frank sinatra when yankees win at home?

          . . .

No real time score on any scoreboards.

CPU trading is an option you can turn off or on for season and franchise.

FP - Do you use the d-pad queue method to steal or the old fasioned press x to make the guy go manually? I am trying to solve the problem I have that stealing 2nd is too easy. I have been using the d-pad method mainly. Does the runner always get a good jump with this method? Will you get worse jumps by doing it with the x button? I have tried this method a few times with the same results. Should I keep trying it?

Is there anything in the following settings that might be causing the problem?

                  (settings for both teams)

                  Game Diff. - Legend
                  AI Sliders - Custom
                  Pitch Speed - Very Fast
                  Batting Cursor - Small
                  Pitch Cursor - Off
                  Strike Zone - Off
                  Active Bullpen - On
                  Game Length - 9
                  Errors - Normal
                  Wind - On
                  Ejections - On
                  Pitch Fatigue - On
                  Variable Pitching - High
                  Swing Feedback - On
                  Pitch Preview - Off
                  Batting Control - Standard
                  Auto Field Lock - Off
                  CPU Pitch Cam - On
                  Camera View - Catcher Low

                  Sliders

                  CPU Pitching Ability - 100

                  CPU Batting Average - 52

CPU Batting Eye (Strikes) - 35

CPU Batting Eye (Balls) - 35

                  CPU Throw Strikes - 1

                  CPU Steal Frequency - 45

                  Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have no idea what's making it so easy for you to steal. If I have any suggestions, I'll let you know.
