OK here's the deal with the CPU swinging after bad pitches. They actually are and they do it a lot. EA apparently gave us a generous strike zone. While pitching if you place the BALL 50 % out side of the strike zone, it's considered a ball. Less than 50% it's considered a strike. Once the contoller starts to vibrate you technically are getting outside of the strike zone. With the generous strike zone and placing the ball no more than 60% outside the box the CPU will swing usually resulting in a foul. If you don't time your pitching meter right the CPU can and migjt jump on the pitch and make you pay, I should know.
Now if the ball is completely outside the box the CPU is probably factoring a generous strike zone and if the ball is 100% outside the box it's probably thinking it doesn't belong in the Majors if it's going to swing at that.
If you want to prove this theory it's easy. While you're batting turn on the strike zone box. You'll see the umpire calling balls anytime the ball is more than 50% percent outside the strike zone edge. If it's less than 50% it will call a strike.
So hopefully this sheds a little light on the so called CPU not hitting bad balls cause they do and it happens more often than we realize.
This is one fun game thanks to everyone for recommending it !
