You cry about all your teams losing. I can't tell you how much you wrote off the Redwings this year. Until they won it all! I do agree with you. This is a bad trade for the Cubs. Yes Harden is a stud and one of the best pitcher in the game, but he is so injury prone. The guy sneezes and he is put on the DList. He will be injured before the season is over. I love the guy, but it is what it is!

I like this deal as I like Harden, but it is a risky deal for the Cubs in that they are getting someone who is injury prone...And given their recent history with Wood and Prior, the "Buyer Beware" sign is front and centre...

Having said that, Harden is a great addition on his stuff alone and the Cubbies have a nice 1-2 punch with Zambrano and Harden

I like the move especially with Gaudin thrown in there. I'm not really concerned about any of those pieces the Cubs gave up. I just hope Harden stays healthy for the year.

No need to mortgage the future when you don't know if you will get the players you currently have healthy.
            Well Tony disagrees with you.

Keep in mind he only signed a 2 year extension so he only has 1 1/2 seasons left before he potentially retires/leaves so he is in win now mode.

STL Post Dispatch writer Joe Strauss yesterday night reported Tony went to new GM John Mozeliak and told him:

Cardinals manager Tony La Russa, typically a man with a very strong "play with what you've got" bias, indicated Wednesday his desire for the team's front office to bolster its current roster before the trade deadline.

"Since you play the year you're playing and you don't take [anything] for granted, the goal should be to improve your chance to win right now," La Russa said. "Not crazy, not for the fans to think you're doing something, [not] stupid, but I mean legitimately, use every resource you can to figure, is there a way to improve the club's chance?"
Supposably La Russa is wanting Mozeliak to go out and add an impact bat and a lefty reliever.

Harden is awesome and scary, I hope the Cubs curse bites him and he returns to the DL.
Graduated HS and had a locker next to Josh Donaldson. Hope he makes it to Oakland and does well.
