I'm not saying I want it to happen, but the guy now has all the money, fame and temptation that go along with being a pro ball player. It's only a matter of time.

I've seen too many Steve Howe, Doc Gooden and Darryl Strawberry stories to NOT be surprised if Hamilton has a relapse. I hope it doesn't happen, but this is the real world. Crap happens.

I was rooting hard for him to win, but I will admit, the ESPN slobfest got on my nerves.

doesnt really have the money yet (at least not in MLB terms)...but im sure he will sign an extension soon

as far as relapses go, some people do recover without going back. Im sure Hamilton knows that this is pretty much his last chance. If he does relapse, then he's probably out of MLB for good.

It could happen, but Hamilton is doing a great job of leaving those days in the past. He won't even go out to restaurants or bars with teammates. Seems like he's genuinely left his abusive drug and alcohol days in the past.

However, I get what you're saying.

I know this Hamilton is getting nuts, but I just wrote my first article on my new site I work for and you guys should check it out. It's what I think he did for the sport by doing what he did at the Derby. It's in my sig.

This isn't a shameless plug, I'd post it here but I'm not allowed to for a year or something.

Here's hoping. My only point is that it would seem hard enough to permanently kick a drug addiction to begin with. When you throw in tons of cash, life on the road, groupies, adulation and all the rest of it, I just think it will be a constant uphill struggle. But maybe he's stronger than I give him credit for...

good job man. It was a good article imo.

I really liked how you ended it

"For Hamilton, it was another step in the right direction of what he would call his long-winding road to recovery.

                  As it was for baseball."

that is true imo. Baseball is trying to recover also.

Thanks alot big guy. That'd be the best news I heard in the last hour i it wasn't for me just snagging my Dark Knight tix for tonight .

But yea, I mean what he did captivated audiences and in my opinion it was what baseball needed the most. An incredible success for baseball in my opinion.
