First sentence, I agree.
Second one.......ewww. Isn't she like 60 now?? Gross.
I don't have a problem with him leaving, but I do have a problem with him not participating in the Derby. You add these things up and he is a real diva.Comment

Heard a story of Hank Aaron doing it before. Not a big deal to me. It's an exhibition game and it is not like they get a lot of time off during the season.- LETS GO RED SOX!!!

Trust me, I'll the first to say the game and players were better when I was a kid. But don't forget, back in the day guys like Mantle and other big stars would show up to games and play drunk from the previous night of post game fun. Nobody ever accused them of not being team players.Comment

Re: Arod and Manny bailed after they were taking out of the game
If only that were true.
The last time A-Rod played in the derby (2002), he went 6-16 with 4 HR's in his first four games after the break. In the first full month back, he hit .331 with 11 HR's and ended up with 30 HR's after the break...so I don't see how he says it messes up his swing. As those numbers are far beyond his career averages. It would seem that for A-Rod, the derby actually helps his swing.
Lets face it he didn't want to be embarrased in front of his home crowd. The guy can't perform under pressure and because the HR derby in an individual event, he wanted no part of that pressure.
A-Rod has participated 3 times and each time he finished in 6th place....maybe that has something to do with it.Comment

How many of us here would like it if everyone at your company is given three days off, but then they tell you "sorry, you're gonna have to come in for two of those days for some special stuff".Last edited by dkgojackets; 07-18-2008, 09:17 AM.Comment

Not only that but they also said "and when you're done your work, you can't leave. You have to stay and watch the rest of us work as well."Comment
