Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!
It's interesting to note that CPU pitch ability at 100 combined with small batting cursor and HVP made me get a lot of hits.
Did anyone try CPU Pitch Ability at 100 with MVP along with small batting cursor?
I'm guessing that the USER hitting will be too difficult against the CPU. I know some people have changed it to 65, but I have a feeling that it might be too easy. Can someone try it at 75. I usually play the Phillies(Millwood) against Marlins(Burnett). They're both good pitchers if you check their overall ratings.
BTW, i'm only asking this because I can't try it till Tuesday, and I'm dying to know how they work so I appreciate any response.

Oh, one more thing, can someone report the runs/hits/error and the strikeouts and balls for the game? THanks againComment

These are the settings that I've been using (CPU Pitch 100, MVP, Small Cursor). I've been getting a reasonable and realistic number of hits per game.
From what I've read, HVP I think gets too many pitches piped down the middle - thus allowing for more base hits by the user. I think MVP gives the computer a little more control and makes hitting a little more difficult, while still giving some opportunity for pitches to miss their intended location.

Thanks for the reply. I was guessing that you would say it was hard to hit with CPU PItch ability 100, MVP. Is it hard to score runs? Just curious, but it seems that you're having realistic games?
Just one question: Are you more on the experienced WSB player or a rookie like me. I'm trying to see if you're having better luck at CPU Pitch 100, MVP because you're just an overall better hitter against the CPU than I am.

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!
Actually the runs seem like a good distribution also. Some games I'll get quite a few runs, and other games will go scoreless into extra innings. I feel like I get a realistic number of hits and runs for both teams. It seems like better pitchers will have more success and mediocre pitchers will struggle more, too. Overall I like it, though I have only played four or five games with these new settings.
I don't have any Runs/Hits/Errors lines to give, unfortunately. Speaking of which, does anyone know if you can go back to games on your schedule and see the linescores? I know it doesn't store the boxscores (at least I don't think it does), but does it at least save more than just the runs?
I'm not a pro at this game, either. This is the first year I've even had WSB. I bought ASB last year. I've played less than 20 games with WSB so far.

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!
OK, I played 3 more games in my Reds franchise, 1 each with XCell's, Graphik's, and WSBFanatic's sliders. First let me say thanks again for all of you guys' input and for sharing your sliders.
All games are on Legend (Not that it matters), Custom sliders (obviously), Standard Hitting, All pitch-aids off, Medium Variable Pitching, cursor small, pitch speed fast, all hitting-aids off (strike zone, swing feedback, whatever)!
XCell's Sliders 73-22-90-64-8-45
Cin 4 11 2
Mon 3 11 0
Player of the gameunn, 3-4, 2-2B, RBI
WP: Jimmy Anderson 5IP 5H 1R 1ER 0BB 4K's
LP: Tomo Ohka 5IP 7H 3R 3ER 0BB 4K's
SV: Williamson
HR: LaRue
Mon Pitching: 98 Pitches/74 Strikes 2BB 7K's
Cin Pitching: 117 Pitches/88 Strikes 0BB 9K's
Stolen bases Cin 2/2
Graphik's Sliders 100-20-75-85-10-50
Cin 1 10 7
Mon 2 7 0
Player of the Game: Sun Woo Kim 5IP 7H 1ER 5K's 1BB
LP: Sullivan (scrub)
Dempster Cin: 8IP 5H 1ER 0BB 11K's
HR: Branyan
Mon Pitching: 112 Pitches/100 Strikes 9K's 1BB
Cin Pitching: 93 Pitches/74 Strikes
Stolen bases: Cin 2/2
WSBFanatic's Sliders 100-20-90-70-10-45
Cin 2 8 1
LA 1 8 1
Player of the Game: Casey 3-4 HR, RBI
WP: Retisma 7IP 5H 1R 1ER 0BB 5K's
LP: K. Brown 5IP 8H 2R 2ER 0BB 3K's
SV: Williamson
HR: S. Green, Casey
Cin Pitching: 94 Pitches/71 Strikes
LA Pitching: 73 Pitches/ 61 Strikes
I still can't walk a batter unless I want to, but I am having so much fun playing WSB, I really don't care.
My ERA after 21 games is like 2.62 and the Reds don't have a good staff by any means, so I may raise the AI Batting Avg. slider to 25-30 and see if they hit better in certain situations.
It seemed like to me using Medium Variable Pitching made the AI pitchers better at not piping pitches down the middle a lot. I did plug a Kevin Brown sinker like 415Ft.!
I am still going to play 1 more game using each set of sliders and then decide what I like for each one. All 3 of the above games were fun to play. If I had to go with sliders now, they would be 85PA-25BA-90-Balls-75Strikes-8TS-50SB.
I haven't played a game with these sliders but I will tomorrow and post results

Re: I think I got it. New and improved sliders!!!
I must add that I swing at a lot of balls still. My batting eye is getting better, but I still swing at some really poor *** pitches, so some people may have better pitch counts with these sliders!Comment
