Why should we have to play to the limits of the game? Why not at least try to get it perfect by continuously tweaking and posting in this topic! That play to the game stuff is bulls**t! I didn't pay $50 to play to the limits of a game, I paid $50 to play all out balls to the wall REALISTIC as possible baseball! I shouldn't have to accept the shortcomings of a game or adapt to them! I love WSB, but damn, there are problems there that are dead evident, and b/c we try to adjust them to maybe fix them a little means all of a sudden we are classified as what type of gamer? I am the type that wants my $50 worth plain and simple, and if it takes a little posting box scores and tweaking sliders while in franchise and trying different sliders, then call me a REAL gamer b/c I made the game adapt to ME! You feel me?

Point is, you're not going to get it perfect. You're always going to be griping and bitchin' and moaning about something...

if you get blown out, it's because the BE K's was too high... All it does is become room for an excuse.

Thats a good point Pared...

I think people definitely shouldn't make changes based on 1 game. Usually I play 3-5 games with sliders so I can see some trends develop.

quick question!! i started my franchise with custom sliders,and i tweak my sliders in exhibition and then save them,that also changes my custom sliders in my franchise right? i'm pretty sure it does as i think i read it on these boards before so can someone clarify that? thanks

Exactly. I've been playing with the settings that I've posted my ENTIRE franchise, and nothing is out of whack. Pitch counts, K's, IP's. Nothing unsual... hell my first game against the Cubs (I'm the Mets) I got blown out, 10-1! Remember, the Mets got smacked Opening Day 17-2.....

Wait...so if a REAL MLB pitcher knew he could throw Ks down the middle knowing that the hitter will K out then what? He shouldn't do it because it wouldn't be "real" baseball?

Obviously he will throw it down the middle despite the realism factor. Of course in real life he can't do that because hitters will punish a pitcher who does that. That's what I'm trying to re-create.

Also, I agree with Jordanfan...stealing and pitching are a different issue. His explanation sums it up best...no need to expand on it.

Honestly, I have been testing these out on Franchise and Exhibition with a couple games sometimes with the same pitchers. I tried to cover all grounds as best as I can.

The only slider I'm working on is the CPU BE(S). If you've read my past posts, I have tried to give objective opinions about them instead of saying "it's perfect" without any objective reasons. The box scores give you that objective part so that people can judge if you really did have a "realistic" game.

It's one thing to suggest slider settings to everyone, but it's quite another to get frustrated over a game. I'm just having fun with it...if others are not then you should stop and take a breath.

Great. I think ya need a reality check guy, it's a game. It has flaws. You can tinker all you want, it's not really going to help anymore than what you have going. But you can pray all you want.

It's still WSB 2k3.

No need to expand on it b/c it IS the same issue. It's part of baseball. You can overlook that? LOL talk about bias. And let's not address the issue that your hit totals on average are too high. If anything BA would be better at 33, but at 37 your pitch count is way too low. You throw a ball just for the sake of throwing it.

BTW, If you're so into the pitcher/hitter matchup, go check out MVP. You'll get your fix there.

So if I were to post my opening box score losing 10-1 in the Mets Season opener, do you think it would have been deemed real? NO. But then again, look at the similar game that same day.

Who's frustrated? I put sliders out there, and you post saying CPU BA is too low. Weren't you the one saying not everyone's sliders are the same? Hypocrite. If anything, I'm getting a kick out of your "know it all" attitude. Spare us all.
