Re: I\'m going to take this game back... The pitching blows

Oftentimes on messageboards, someone will complain about a game, and others will reply with something along the line of, "If you were any good, you wouldn't think that way."

No offense intended, but this may be the first time that response would actually be accurate. There should be no problem shutting down an offense on Rookie in this game.

this game takes some time to be good at it. I almost gave up myself, but now I'm glad I didn't.

i almost did myself, im also glad i didnt. You must really be bad at this game, like others said no offence. But if the least amountof hits you have giving up on rookie is 11 you flat out "SUCK"

And I'm not going to argue with that, or any other response in this thread. That has to be the explination. BUT I am NOT grooving anything. I know baseball. I live baseball. I know exactly what should be done when pitching. I used the cold zones. I paint the corners. I swtich speeds. I change locations. I work the ladder, I break the sliders and curves out of the strike zone, I burn the head up in in. I move the oitching cursor after the pitcher begins his windup. I've busted the batters inside. Nothing seems to work for me. If you guys are so good, then please, give me some suggestions.

It's not like I'm some noob or some hack that can't play a sports game or doesn't know baseball. I play these games just like any of you do. On 2003 I worked my way to AllStar and pitched and hit very well with a challenge. I've played every ASB since 99 religiously. And I'd be willing to bet I know more about baseball then many on this board. But I simply cannot figure out how to hit. As I mentioned before I SHOULD be burning the batters on Rookie, but it isn't happening. The batters just hit everything. I've got one more day to return this. I'll try my best to pitch these bastards into the ground, but it isn't working.

pitching's all about thinking. Once you find a good pattern, then you'll be dominating on pitching.

Story goes for me, I had three games against the Yankees and I was giving up 10+ hits per game. This was because I was pitching freely without thinking. Once I moved on to the next few series, I began to flatten out my pitching patterns. I haven't given up more than 5-6 hits per game after ward... but I'm still working on how to get strikeouts.

Yes, but don't abuse the same spot more than two times per at-bat (unless it's a change of speed).

First question: What team are you using? Maybe you have shi**y pitchers?

Also, the CPU does recognize patterns. Maybe you're doing similar things (fastball outside to start an at bat). If you do that, they'll kill you.

The only other thing I can think of is you got a defective copy that forgot to include pitching, because I don't have the problem you do.

Dont use the changeup, Ive given up 11 homers in 13 games and every single one came off a changeup. They seem to hit everyone.
