Players disappearing? Who all is having this problem?

A couple people have mentioned in another thread that players sometimes disappear from the game, and all rosters... sometimes after trades, etc.

My question is for those who have had this happen, how often and/or when does this happen? As well as to ask how many people have played through a season or so now and not had it happen?
Is it a real game bug, or just a result of a bad disk-glitch?

I think someone was saying they did a 2 player for 1 player trade and the extra guy in the trade disappeared. Hasn't happened to me yet. I found the extra guy on the minor league roster.

Already over 10000 posts...

I really don't care about the people I trade because they're only minor leaguers, and if they dissappear, they're probably in some other team's minor league system.

Well, I was the one who lost a second player in a one for two trade-- the players was, I believe, in the high minors, but a real player, Gary Bennett to be exact. He disappered everywhere but the transactions page where he was listed as inactive. After I saved, turned the console off, and returned the next day to play again-- Bennett's name had disappeared from the transactions page but his spot still remained. I wish I could go back and look but I've sinced re-started my franchise and haven't had a problem like this again, though all my trades have been straight up.

All I can suggest is experiment, but save your game before you do, and don't save again until you are sure everything is in its place. The next time I try a one for two trade, I'll be sure to open up a roster spot, at least. It might do the trick, though I know a lot of folks seem to think it shouldn't matter, either way, so it could be completely random.

Had a player disappear on me now...
Traded a High Minors pitcher who had no options and was on the 40 man roster for a Majors fielder who also had no options and was on their 40 man roster.

For this instance, an idea that come to mind, besides saving before every roster/move trade:
- keeping the trade made between like roster players, ie players with no options and on the 40 man roster, make sure they are all in the majors or like minors before swapping.
I suspect it has something to do with the options and 40 man roster, and where they go, being that someone else reported a somewhat similar problem.

Please let's keep this thread going when you see an instance of it, and perhaps we can all make a work around for this, so that we know what to avoid and how to better work with it.

what system is everyone having this problem with? I just made dozens of two for one trades just for the hell of it, to see if I could create this problem. No luck. Every trade was done correctly, I have the PS2. Every time I take on an extra player, he is on my roster, then I have to release someone, or something to get my roster back to the 25, 15, 15 man limit. I'd say I did 15 odd man trades and never once had a problem. Just wondering if its linked to a particular system? I know they delayed the PS2 version a week possibly to fix something, I was wondering if that was it.
