Just a question concerning the two created guys... do you save the roster file after creating them?

cradle- I created Contreras and Matsui today as well. They appear in the FREE AGENTS listing...just go to free agents and sign them in 2 blank slots at the bottom of your roster.

I had it happen twice in one Seaon. As the Padres in franchise mode I had two trades (detailed below) where the players I received were all listed as inactive and when I simulated the season were no where to be found. They showed up on the transaction screen but no where on my rosters. Also, I had 4 spots open on my High Minors when the trades were placed so room was not an issue. (I own PS2 version). The strange part is I have made uneven trades before that were completed without issue. This seems to be some strange bug.

Trade#1:
Francisco Cordova -- P (Padres)
For:
Kirk Saroloos (Astros)
Tim Redding
Jared Fernandez

Trade#2:
Phil Nevin (Padres)
For:
Jung Bong (Braves)
Johnny Estrada

I have found they disappear if I trade and the incomming player has some major league experience, even though he has contract option years left and is in the other team's minor league system, that a roster spot in the major has to be made before the trade for him to come into... otherwise, poof, they disappear. At least this is the case of players that I obtain in trades. At least this has been the case since I've noticed it (not sure if it works this way 100 percent of the time)... but, since rearranging my roster before a trade to recieve such a player, I have not yet encountered the disappearing player bug... at least not for my team.
I have seen an odd quirk where the CPU team's can put incomming players with no options points left that they recieve in trades, into the minors. Wish I could do that, but it doesn't work. In a similar vein for a CPU team, I noticed an injured player coming off the DL and being brought back up to the majors, and a major leaguer with no options points, being brought back down to the minors. Again this was for a CPU team only. Another minor gameplay quirk that I hope they fix in next year's version of this game.

Okay, I've made several trades just too see if I could replicate this problem everyone was having...no luck, every trade, odd man trades, even man trades, they all worked out perfectly. Then just before opening day, I make a two for two trade.....The cpu got their two players, but my two were no where to be found....Here's what I suggest, anytime you're about to make possible changes to your franchise, save it..I save mine after every game I play....all I did was restart my franchise, make the same trade, and all players were on their correct teams. It's just a glitch, and if you try the trade again, I'm certain they will goto their correct team.....
Now I would be willing to bet that the free agent list will dissapear guys that are sucks...the free agent list probably has a maximum roster capacity during the regular season. Anyways, there's my advice for you guys. I'm 100% it works

Uhm, what console - country are you running your game from?
Several of us are 100 percent sure that what you just mentioned, does not work on our systems.
I really wish the problem was something that was that simple, and of course, save before every trade, roster cut, etc., but that really makes no difference... the players disappear every time when this happens. Just reloading from recent save and trying again does not work.

Several of us are 100 percent sure that what you just mentioned, does not work on our systems.
I really wish the problem was something that was that simple, and of course, save before every trade, roster cut, etc., but that really makes no difference... the players disappear every time when this happens. Just reloading from recent save and trying again does not work.

PS2 and I'm from Texas. I must have made 20 plus trades trying to get something to screw up, and the last one I did, I saw everyone's complaint...the two guys I traded for, nowhere to be found....but I simply reloaded the franchise, redid the exact same trade, and everything was fine. It appears to me that ASB could have been cleaned up a little bit more, I think it has some glitches here and there...but nothing regular or in any kind of pattern....Everything works fine for me....I seriously doubt my copy is any different from everyone elses. With all the questions I've seen on this forum about ASB and how to use it (simple questions like how to release someone) I think the main problem is people don't know how to use ASB....how that is possible, I just don't know....but I really have no problems out of the ordinary considering we are dealing with a computer game....and as mentioned, I really doubt my copy is the "golden copy".
