Roger Cedeno is a terrible outfielder with little range but he has great speed. So I think that MVP does simulate speed differences well...it doesnt handle the differences of range well. Especially like you said in the infield......all fielders play like gold glovers. ALsmost no variety

I take the simulation approach when it comes to fielding...

One of the most frustrating and thrilling aspects of real life pitching is counting on your defense to come through! This means that I put my defense option on Assist. I let to CPU make or not make the play and I simply throw the ball. I just can't get myself to give complete control to the CPU; I love the throw meters too much to do that.

Hope you guys give it at least a shot for a couple of games.

Nah. While it's a noble idea, I already played that game when it was called "World Series Baseball" for Dreamcast

Seriously though, I enjoy clontroling my fielders a lot, it just took some getting used to. If I wanted a pure, batting/pitching simulation, I'd honestly go play Home Run King for NGC. The rest of the game was crap, but the hitting pitching was second only to MVP. If WSB would go with their fielding/presentation, and HRK or MVP's pitching/batting, I think they'd create the greatest BB franchise ever

              Ok, I respect that.

But seriously, this was the only way I could get myself to keep this game. The fielding control is just absolutely atrocious!!! However, the pitching and throwing interface is addictive and fun.

fielding control in this game flawless....what are you talkin about?....in fact its a bit too fluid, thats my point. Every fielder exhibits flawless fielding and range. There's no differences or they just arent as obvious as they are when you watch a real game. I watched the Mets vs Dodgers on Sunday and it was like night and day the distinctions between the good solid fielders and the poor players...Wiggingto was making error after error and didnt seem comfortable at 3rd

I don't often go back and forth regarding a topic because quite honestly it's pointless. In my opinion, the fielding, in comparison to other games, is frustrating and unrealistic.

I'm enjoying the game in general so much that my wife is starting to wonder where her husband has been the last few days.

please explain frustrating and unrealistic.......because I agree with you that it is unrealistic, but I think for different reasons that you have. I dont find it all frustrating, I just find it rather overexaggerated and overeffective.
