IDK if thats a good thing or not, because I'm not sure what fans are more ignorant, Sox fans or Yanks fans...

      Yeah, it would've been.

I really thought I could root for the Rays if the Yanks were out of it but I can't. I hope they get swept.

I'm DEFINITELY rooting for the Rays to win, but a part of me wants them to fail because their fans don't deserve a winner. 30,000 per game is offensive to fans like me who can't even see their damn favorite team in person.

            @ The Matrix31

you're overstating your point...yes, in most cases, 30,000 per game is not acceptable for a first place team...a team that has a chance to clinch the Division title..a team that literally has played magical baseball all season

but...after seemingly endless years of futility, a city just doesn't win back it's fans back that quick--especially since nowadays, many fans in all cities are of the fairweather type anyway....

For them, 30,000 is impressive when you look at the past---9 or 10,000 averages....

Well, 30,00 is pretty good for Tropicana Field, when their seating capacity is only 36,00

Re: The Tampa Bay Rays...the MAGIC NUMBERS ARE...

Interestingly, if the Rays make it to the World Series then all 4 expansion teams from the 1990's will have played in a World Series this decade. Remarkable for the fact that that would leave the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers-both 30+ year old franchises as the only teams to have never played in the fall classic.
