It is definitely not easy, you have to time a lot of things right to be successful.

Pressing Up on the d-pad works as a speed burst and the headfirst slide is also a big key to avoiding a tag.

As I play this game there are more and more "little things" that this game has that really adds to the satisfaction of the game experience. It is really satisfying to steal a base or strikeout the cpu, mostly because you have to work at it.

I won a game in the bottom of the ninth by scoring from first on a double in the gap by furiously pressing each base on the d-pad to run faster and then just beating the tag with a headfirst slide into home. I must have watched that replay about 10 times from every angle.

I seriously do not see the problem with this. I find it WAY too easy to steal a base with a fast runner. Once he has that foot icon on the side, it's easy pickens...unless i'm not payin attention and get picked off or i accidentally hit the wrong button (not A) and don't slide head first.

But I guess its fair b/c I can't seem to hit a homerun if my life depended on it. I don't know what i'm doin wrong...

Man I wish it was that way for me..... I can't steal for the life of me..even with fast runners....

Has anyone noticed if it depends on the strength of the catcher's arm? Is there a rating for the pitcher's pickoff move? Maybe these factors play a role?
