I'm a huge Reds fan but if i had the choice between Kearns and Pujols I'd take Pujols in a second.

Re: is adam dunn
im not saying kearns is a bad player.. i just feel pujols is better
i betcha kearns will hit more hr's this year then what pujols hit in his second year.. but for some reason i think albert is gonna hit 40+ this year..
and when you said pitchers "figuring" him out.. they said that in his rookie year too.. ... last year he did have an average first half.
btw, do you think griffey is gonna have a good year?Comment

Re: is adam dunn
That, my friend, is the question. He's been pretty sharp so far in Spring Training, but we all know how important that is. He's gonna have to produce this year or the Reds are gonna drop his *** like a bad habit. Jim Bowden keeps hinting as such. When asked if Griffey is involved in any trade plans, Bowden always says, "Griffey is going to be our center fielder on opening day at Great American Ballpark." As in, Yeah, he's our guy now, at the beginning of the season. If he doesn't have at least 20 HR and 45 or so RBIs by the All Star Break, they'll cash him in for a decent starting pitcher (there's an idea!). Plus, with their depth in the outfield (Kearns, Dunn, Branyan, plus Ruben Mateo and a surprisingly talented Reggie Taylor) they can afford to lose someone.
In my opinion, I think Griffey will have a big year. There's finally some chemistry between him and some of the other Reds, and I think that says a lot.Comment

Good to see the boys have some fans up in Vancouver. I gotta admit I'm a little biased here, because I hate the goddamned Cardinals. THey have such a huge payroll, and they still can't hang. Bastards.Comment

Considering that the Reds payroll last year was 42 (with more than a third of that going to Larkin and Griffey), and they spent 1/2 the season in first place, I think that pound for pound they are a better squad. And they managed to do that with ELMER GODDAMNED DESSENS as our "ace." The Cardinals have talent out the yin yang, and they still can't make it to the Big Dance. They have DOUBLE the payroll.
And they may have spanked up the redlegs last year, but funny how they haven't won a World Series since 1982. So no, I don't think they can contend.
PS Tino Martinez sucks.
