    progresion

this to me, is only 1 of 2 problems ive had withthis game. the first thing i always do when i rent a sports game is sim about 5 seasons and see how everything looks.
question 1, have any of you ever seen a drafted pitcher get beyond a c+ before the age of 30?
question 2, why are the only good players in the draft usually corner outfielders.. their are usually like 3-4 b- corner outfielders... but hardly any other players above c+.. and pitchers wont get past c in the draft. with how slow players progress. you very rarely ever get any "really good" players in the future.

i still have yet to play wsb, so i dont know how it works either.

    Re: progresion

I'm gonna have to disagree with you....baseball is not like football, players you draft average about 3-4 years in the minors before getting their chance to shine in the big leagues. C rated players in the draft are very very good prospects! Also, you have to look at your coaching budget, for thats the building block to your future...the more points allocatedt here, the better your young players will get. Very rarely that a prospect gets to go to the big leagues before the age of 24-25. And pitching prospects develope alot slower than any other position. Thats why everyone, and I mean everyone is looking for pitching. So, my advice for you is, don't gripe about C rated players in the draft...those are good young prospects...draft them, and give them 2 or 3 years in your farm system, let them develope and allocate as many points as you can to your coaching budget. Rock on man.

The ratings in this game are low, C is deemed good in the game....

If anyone has reached there, can you tell me if the progression is the same as last years?.

well.. i had my coaching, scouting and training maxed... but i didnt get a b- pitcher until the guy was 32 years old. i drafted the top pitcher every year. and in every round and they didnt become b-'s till their 30s
now i drafted the guy with the most potential every year.. so that could be it.. but its like they stick at c+'s for like 5 years.. kinda aggravating.
i mean.. zito was a B last year and he was 24! i just kinda wish they would progress faster i guess..

I drafted a C+ SS and he was 24 at the time well I took him and kept him in the minors till he was 29 no progression at all so finally I called him up let him start everyday and at year end he was a B- now 3 years later at 32 he is a B so maybe keeping them in the minors too long stunts there developement but then again I once drafted a B+ SP and after a year in the minors he was an A-(at age 19) and ready to be the ace of my expansion team (he is either an A+ or A now dont remember).

I had the top pick that year and he was the only SP above a C+ and he was projected as an All-Star with all 8's and 7's and he developed into a monster.
