Same, I love watching baseball almost every day in the summer time. I like other sports too but baseball has always been my #1

Sad day indeed but this should be an exciting post-season.

And bring on the hot-stove because i think this will be an interesting winter.

          I'll repost Hornsby's quote:

Agreed. In fact, these last few days I felt like the Giants, Padres, Braves, and Phillies were the only teams playing. I totally forgot about all of the other teams. Even when they were saying how people did during the season in terms of numbers and stuff, I almost forgot that today counted toward their season numbers. I felt like today's SD/SF game was a playoff game.

I agree. I love it when it is part of my day, every day. There is a continuity to the game that surpasses all other sports imo.

I will miss seeing the Blue Jays but I have a feeling if the umpires don't eff up that this could be one of the better postseasons in a while.

Hey, if you noticed I originally posted this back in 2008 after the Braves had just wrapped up a 72 win campaign. It's not about winning and losing (although that helps!), it's about baseball!

I dunno. Seems less wide-open to me than some years. The Phillies are overwhelming favourites in the NL (and deservedly so), and it's unlikely they'll face anyone other than the Yankees or Rays, which would a WS rematch of either '08 or '09. Uninspiring.

Hope I'm wrong, though. I'm rooting for Giants/Rangers.

Well at least the first round has 3 potentially intriguing matchups and the 4th matchup has generated controversy over the years. (Yanks/Twins) The Rangers are set up to make some serious noise in the playoffs especially if they get by Tampa and play NYY as NY has struggled against lefties and Texas has 2 very good ones in their rotation.

In fact, I can easily see the Rangers making it to the WS.

I hate not being in the playoffs and its such a long wait until next season. Football goes so quick you can't really enjoy it.

I was due to be right one of these days!

I'm glad to see the Rangers in there. They've become a real class organization IMO.
