Which they probably won't. Pedro wants to stay with the Mets. That is why talks with the Marlins went nowhere and why he rejected a guarenteed contract with an "unnamed" American League team.

Which they probably won't. Pedro wants to stay with the Mets. That is why talks with the Marlins went nowhere and why he rejected a guarenteed contract with an "unnamed" American League team.

The Mets arent going to resign him. They dont care if he wants to come back or not. He is washed up. And the Mets realize that and arent going to waste the money or the time. Dont get wrong I love Pedro too and he was the best pitcher in baseball for awhile. Also I believe them signing Tim Redding pretty much sealed the deal for Pedro.

don't be so sure....at this very moment, Pedro is BETTER THAN any #5 starting pitcher option the Mets have. Again, at THIS time. Of course, that's subject to change.

The one thing that Pedro STILL does better than most is p-i-t-c-h...which many pitchers in the game today (including some of the Mets' pitchers) haven't learned how to do....


rsox is right, Pedro's first option WILL be and IS the Mets....
not saying that it's a guarantee (because nothing's guaranteed), but you have to understand what's REALLY going on here.

The Pirates thing--please...that is NOT the kind of team a sure-fire HALL OF FAMER wants to possibly end his career. He's stated a million times, he wants to go where he has a chance to win a World Series...Pittsburgh AIN'T it.
