Agreed. Which, I'm assuming, counts now towards the Gold GLove award.

Yadier Molina should have won in 06 (Brad Ausmus, threw out like 17% of runners) and 07 (Russell Martin, .297 avg.) but now finally gets one after batting .303 while having his worst statistically fielding year to date.

Otherwise, if a runner goes from first to second and you simply didn't give it the best throw, they get a double and you are clean.
You haven't seen the Pirates play. Making the routine plays is often difficult.

Just playing devil's advocate, how many other CF'ers in the NL had 1 or fewer errors? I agree that errors shouldn't for an OF'er shouldn't be a telling stat. I also played CF before I moved to pitcher and it's not a difficult position. I actually thought CF was easier than LF/RF because I was able to see the trajectory of the ball off the bat easier.

Just looking at the list on mlb.com, there were actually quite a few outfielders with 1 or fewer errors including a handful of CF. Heck, iron glove Ryan Braun didn't have any along with some others.

See, clearly the writers messed up. Braun should have won the award. He won ROY in his rookie season! How many players do that? And then he had another fine offensive season?

How does this guy not get a Gold Glove?!

Speaking of which, Mark Teixeira was a beast at 1B but didn't win snot. Regardless of whether he switched leagues, he was absolutely amazing (at least as a Brave)

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Well, I was actually being extremely sarcastic. I mean, Ryan Braun should never be mentioned in the same breath as Gold Glove.

But, yea, Tex is a fine fielder and switching leagues probably hurt his chances.

Thanks. I've been a bit busy at work and haven't the time to look over the stats too much.
