Who do the Cubs have to pitch other than Wells and Prior??

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Well the Cubs don't have a Wells but I think you were talking about Kerry Wood. Then everybody knows about Prior. Matt Clement had a good year last year. Estes is a decent middle rotation stater. Carlos Zambrano and Juan Cruz are 2 really strong young arms with a good future. Cubs also got some help in the bullpen with Mark Remlinger and Dave Veres.

          ^ LoL.

The Cubs aren't necessarily a BAD team . . They are just an average team, in a very competitive division.

                      3.32, 3.60, 3.66, 3.66.
Can you guys what teams top 4 starting pitchers ERAs those are? Ill give you a hint, they are in the NL, and no one on this thread is giving them much of a chance...

Got it yet? Wrong, its the Cubs. The rotation is good, REAL good. We all know about Kerry Wood and Mark Prior. And Matt Clement, opponents batted .215 against him! .215!!!! Thats 3rd best in the league. But, becuz the Cubs didn't score runs, he was 12-11, and no one knew how good of a year he pitched. Then theres Carlos Zambrano, 3.66 ERA last year, hes what, like 21? 22? He could be good.

With that said, the bullpen could be good too, Mike Remlinger and Dave Veras give them a good right hand/left hand set up combo, Alfonseca is hurt, but Kyle Farnsworth should bounce back.

Besides that, this team isn't much improved from last year, but they should be better. Corey Patterson and Bobby Hill are a year older, and that should help. While they brought in Damian Miller to catch, and Mark Grudzielanek and Erik Karros to bring something off the bench. And Moises Alou struggled last year, this year he should be better. There gonna have lots of trouble in that division, but they are a lot better than people think.

                      P.S. I hate Sosa.

                          Decline of the Mariners?...What?
The team won 93 games last year...year before 116. Call me crazy, but those are a lot of wins.

                          No HR power?
What about Mike Cameron? Brett Boone? John Olerud? Martinez (if healthy)? And Cirillo (if he rebounds from a TERRIBLE offensive year)? Who did the Twins have as BIG power hitters when they made it to the ALCS Last year? There top three, 29, 27, and 15. The Mariners? 25, 24, 22.

With the addition of Randy Winn, some bench help, and Joel Pineiro a year older, should improve this team from last year. The Rotation is good, with a lot of young players, and the Bullpen is set, and has been.

They probably won't pass Oakland for #1, but I'm sure they will battle for Wild Card, if not win it. And the Angels? Fluke.

Quick, who finished in 2nd place in the NL East?

                              The Phillies? No.
                              The Marlins? No.
                              The Mets? No.

The Montreal Expos finished 83-79, 2nd in the NL East. This team is good. The rotation is solid, Vazquez, Armas Jr. (see the game he pitched today?) and Ohka are all quality starters, and with El Deque and Livan, they add experience, also depth with Zach Day. The team is young, with Chavez and Wilkerson in the outfield.

The only set back i see? No its not manager Frank Robinson, who i think did a great job last year, is that they are gonna play 22 games in Puerto Rico, to be considered home games. And games in Canada?

SOMEONE BUY THIS TEAM! GIVE THEM A NEW NAME, A NEW CITY, AND PUT THEM IN THE PLAYOFFS...well maybe not playoffs if Guerrero gets away.
