    Re: XBOX Action Replay Impressions

    "SportsMonger", has a great point.
But most gamers (including myself) always buy the new version of the game / a series when it is released.

I had to go to 4 stores Tuesday to find AR...and at the GameStop I purchased it at...the manager of the store raved about how cool AR is (blows away the Sharkport/GameShark for the PS2).

Plus AR (or their parent company) bought out GameShark or whomever owns them.

I've had a SharkPort (PS2) for 2 years now, and never have had any problems.

I don't understand why some employee at the store where you bought AR at told you that B.S., because at every electronics / gaming store I've ever been to have always had Sharkports, GameSharks, CodeBreakers, and etc. for the PS2.

But as far as voiding your warranty on the X-Box...is a joke...WHY? Because you do not mod your system. So if for some reason your X-Box developes problems and you have to get it fixed...just transfer all your AR - Saves to another memory card or your PC...and the only one who will know you have AR is you...unless you tell MS...which would be stupid.

I am so stoked that AR came out so now I have the opening-day rosters & lineups for WSB2K3.

Shot out to Millennium and all the people who helped him put a fantastic 'ROSTER' together...THANKS!!!!!

Can't wait for NCAA Football 2004...won't have to send a memory-card off to get the roster-names this year.
And maybe this will cause XBL to get their act together so when Sega or any other developer releases downloads via LIVE, the downloads will actually be available when stated...like NBA2K4.

    GAME ON ...

    PS5

    XBox Series X

You realize this makes Xbox Live roster downloads obsolete. I can't believe they finally released a Xbox sharkport. I have some questions though. Is it an official Xbox memory card? If not ,can you use it to transfer saves and back up your hard drive just like you would with a normal Xbox memory card? I guess this means I am going to have to start my WSB franchise over if I want to use the new rosters.

Is it an official XBOX memory card? NO

Does it work in your controller just like an XBOX memory card? Yes

Can you use an official memory card in your AR? No

            Does it really matter? No

Do you need to purchase an MS memory card to use this? No

Is there "some assembly required"? No, but you will need to install the software...disk included. I guess you could consider that "some assembly required".

What is the recommended age for AR? There really is none, but if you don't know whether or not you have USB, or even what USB is..then you may not yet be old enough to figure it out. (sorry, couldn't resist)

Can i update rosters with AR? hmm, not sure..j/k.. OF COURSE YOU CAN FOOLS

What is AR? Think sharkport for PS2, but this is for XBOX (well the XBOX AR anyway ) and much simpler to use.

Picked the AR yesterday and like CS said ...It is way easier and more reliable than the Sharkport. The memory card idea was a stroke of genius. Well worth the $40 for the abilty to have updated rosters.

I just stumbled onto this post, by mistake, and it blew my mind. I've wanted an xbox sharkport for so long.

Anyway, if your not in a hurry, you can preorder the AR off of Bestbuy.com for $39.99 w/free shipping, but its not being released until 4/20. Also checked on Ebay, and you can find them for about $40 plus shipping.

Great Post and thanks for the Info.

Best thing since sliced bread. Takes about 3 minutes to hook up and about 1 minute to get a file save - add another minute to get it to your XBOX and Walla!!!

No more sending out memory cards via mail to get rosters...no more waiting on SEGA for out of date roster updates. Bravo!!!
