so it seems that this kind of stuff does happen often. My pitchers are well rested, and not tired. I throw the same way, but it doesn't seem to do anything. After playing a couple of games with the CPU able to hit anything around the 7, 8, or 9th innings. It seems obvious now that SEGA put a CPU cheat for the CPU hitting.

Now, the next question is...how does one fix that.

Don't over warmup your pitchers and keep in mind that most relievers throw very hard so keep the ball down and out of the K zone, I had Smoltz get rocked b/c I got behind in the count and tried to go inside on Burrell and he decided to launch one into space. Most MR don't have pinpoint control either. I know that when I'm batting against CPU relievers I take a lot of pitches and try to get some walks or wait until I am ahead in the count 2-1 or 3-1 and sit on a juicy fastball.
"A two count is routine. You kick out at two if you aren’t done. Kicking out at one is a MESSAGE. It says NO in capital letters. A middle finger. A promise that the other man is going to have to kill you if they’re going to put you down." ~ Brandon Stroud

IT seems that the hitters (cpu) are more aggressive when it comes down to the 7th and 8th inning so what i found out is throw balls that r pretty close to being a strike and they will swingI I have been pitching much better now

i havent really noticed this happening to me.....what i do is throw most, or a lot anyway, pitches harder than normal with my relievers...yes, it uses up stamina, but you only need them for an inning apiece on average, so it doesnt really hurt....with a starter, i seldom go for the extra power on a pitch, because theyll burn out way too quick.....dont know if this helps anyone, but it works well for me...cheers

I wondered that because I have MAdden 2003 and the CPU will catch every long ball and your CBs can't do anything about it when they're down. So in the end, the CPU will have about 20 yards rushing and 350 yards passing every game.

I'm going to try to improve my pitching by the advice given here, but if it still doesn't work...i'll have to wonder what's up with the CPU hitting. They do tend to be more aggressive which I don't mind, but they shouldn't be pinpoint accurate with their hitting all of a sudden.

I know sometimes if i make a mistake and leave something over the plate and they hit it sometimes its hard to stop them. And it could be a pitcher not rated good or not taking the pitcher out of the game soon enough. Or not warming up a releiver or not warming him up long enough. you gotta also mix up your pitches location and speed and throw out of the strike zone too and inside. Throw them off balance and be very careful and selective with each pitch in the late innings.
