I've probably mentioned it already, but it probably bears repeating. Morgan really, really drags Miller down to his level, which is very unfortunate. Listen to Miller on any other broadcast sans Morgan and it's night and day. Morgan really is a worthless commentator, he's either busy being too damned full of himself, or being flat out wrong about whatever he's saying.

Imagine Joe Morgan and Dusty Baker commentating a game together; no other people, just them.

Baker tried to do analysis for Baseball Tonight in 2007 and did not really add anything, he didn't take anything away, but he did not add to the conversation at all.

I liken Joe Morgan to Jon Madden in Football these days...they don't bring anything to the game, they spout a lot of nonsense that only makes sense to them, but they have been doing it for so long they have become staples and like them or hate them they will always be around.

Anyone see the pregame booth segment when they go through john, then to joe, then to steve and after steve they pan back out and morgan is sitting there with his back turned then halfway turns around and he goes Oh! and kinda jumps. That was hilarious. He is beyond bad and how he has hung on is beyond me. Whoever said he brings Jon down with him was absolutely right. Listening to those two is like watchin a couple monkeys f' a football, it can be entertaining but makes you shake your head and go what the f!

I love listening to John Miller call Giants games on KNBR radio in the Bay. But Joe just brings so little to the table, its nearly unwatchable.

I was reading an issue of SI today at the gym, they had a what to watch for thing. One of their things to watch was last Sunday's opening night. In the blurb, they specifically mentioned John was great, but Joe brought down Miller and made it a bad broadcast. Pretty interesting.

The thing is, Joe USED to be good. I watched a '92 broadcast with he and Miller and they worked very well together. Joe was actually quite perceptive and brought insight to the table. At some point in time the man totally became lazy and is no good at all.
