Torre unveils his true colors as a classless prick. Always knew he was like this, from the way he used to treat Kim Jones.

A I don't know who Kim Jones is and B I don't expect you to understand being a Yankees fan.

I for one am not surprised one bit at the claims in his book. From the outside looking in on the Yankees all these years they all sound true.

There was no need to right this book except money and revenge. People thought Torre was not that kind of guy. We were proven wrong.

Of course he rips on Alex. That's great. He was just trying to hurt Alex's relationship with his teammates. Ripping on Cashman too. Cash is the only reason he kept his job after the Tigers series. Can't blame him. He doesn't write the checks. The Steinbrenners wanted him out and they got their wish.

The Yankees made him who he is. He was a **** manager before he got there. He had numerous HOF's pass through his teams. He wasn't a manager. He was just sitting and watching the game like the rest of us. After his dream team cleared out, he showed his mediocrity.

A 477 page book ripping the organization that made him from a no name into a larger than life character. Stay classy Joe.

I like how he rips Cashman when Cashman was the one who saved his job after 2004.

The only legitimate claim I see from the article was that Steinbrenner was told that Torre had prostate cancer before Joe was even notified. Everything else comes off as real bitter. I guess he was pissed that he doesn't have Scott Proctor to pitch in every game anymore.

I don't really understand this. What's the point of releasing the book, especially now when he's still a manager? Seems like a move to take some pointless jabs at his former employer/players for zero reason.

I agree with J.R. Locke here. I mean sure the inflammatory stuff is gonna get out now but maybe he had good things to say about the Yankees. After all, it was his stint in NY that took him from being a mediocre manager to the guru that he's become now.

Torre isn't the author of the book. Tom Verducci of SI is.

I think it is wrong to "air dirty laundry" just because you are unhappy. However, I also think the Yankees as a whole were wrong to Torre as well -- for starters, they never mentioned him in the closing ceremonies at all.

Of course, we are hearing some "juicy" stuff now perhaps just to stir the pot, so to speak.

Yeah, but why even bother in the first place? Last time I checked he's still a Major League manager. He should have at least some responsibilities towards the Dodgers. There's no point in it. Even if he wrote a book with nothing but fantastic things to say about the Yankees, why write a book about your former team when you're still a MLB manager? It doesn't make any sense. Why even give the interview to Verducci? What's the point?

I hate the Yankees and A-Rod just like most people, I just don't understand why Torre would do it now.

I thought Torre had more class then to trash former players and management while he is still managing.
