Damn snitches done struck again. I HATE snitches. What was the purpose of this at all. It's not like they got any benefit from it.

Lol yeah and lets just close down the HOF for this entire era then.

I dunno about Manny, Pared. You might be right but I'd be shocked if he didn't take anything.

He will be 42 when the contract is up. So he wouldn't have got many offers if any offers anyway.

I know Bonds is one of your favorite players, and I'd be one of the first to step in and say that steroids doesn't make you a better baseball player, but the reality is, the situations are very different.

Bonds is going through a trial. No team wants to get involved with that media mess.

Alex Rodriguez has never lied in court and I don't see him walking into a courtroom when he's 40.

He had a grudge against all the guys he ratted out. But as always with athletes, it was firstly about the $$$$$

He has said that he didn't think it would get this big. He probably didn't think that MLB would really care since they didn't care when he was juicing. But, it's definitely a different era, where the media drives everything.

Harold Reynolds is brilliant. Just an aside.
This coverage makes MLB Network better than any sports news network.

You think the NBA would be doing this on NBA TV? Please. They don't even have intelligent guys (Webber and Payton?) covering their results.

I hope A-Rod's lawyers find out who these sources are and take them for every dollar they have and they will never work again.

Re: A-Rod tested positive for 'roids in '03

It just makes me wonder why guys even juice.

Alex has hit at least 20 homeruns in every year of his professional career (this includes the minors). How many players can say that?

If you look at the pictures, you can say that 2003 is right about the time he jacked up a considerable size from the year before. Before that, he just grew a bit every season. A normal progression.

                      2000:

                      2001:

                      2002:

                      2003:

So, why does a guy that hits 36 homeruns his first full season, and had 6 straight 40-homerun seasons before 2003, decide that he needs to take steroids?

Unless he was already taking them and then later decided to also take HGH, and that added to the extra size. I don't know. Just speculation.

Wow. I can't say I'm not surprised, but I feel it's gotten to the point where we have to look at every player that came up in the 90s and early 00s and just assume that they ALL juiced. Especially when there was no MLB rule against it. If A-Rod isn't clean, who is?

I'm sure A-Rod will just go and say something like "When I did it there were no rules against it, MLB never gave us a list of banned substances..." etc etc. A-Rod is a jerk, but I mostly blame MLB, Donald Fehr, & Bud Selig for this whole mess. They did squat to prevent any of this from happening during the height of the problem. Now all this stuff that MLB has swept under the rug is coming to surface.

Haha I know man, I'm just sad that he's not given a chance to reach 3,000 hits because of the "collusion" or what have you. He was a great hitter in 2007, 2008 could have shown more of the same but he was never even given a chance.

If he weren't run out by Magowan (who isn't owner of the Giants anymore) he perhaps could have gotten his contract extended one more year by them.

As for A-Rod... not unexpected, and it doesn't make me like the guy any less. He was a more-than-superb hitter with Seattle and Texas, and he's just become a better player overall. He's not by any means a favorite player of mine, but I really don't know what this means.

Seriously, no one saw this coming? All of them used roids, erase every single stat from 86 - 06 or put an * next to all of them. Every single stat/record.

Yes they do. Are you kidding me? They improve strength, which helps with bat speed, and they improve endurance, which allows people to be healthy all season long.

It's no coincidence that Bonds had never hit 50 hrs in a season and then he hit over 70. Likewise, it's no coincidence that Clemens had career years in his lat 30's.

You don't just have all-time historical years when you're in your late 30's. Balls that would be caught short of the warning track turned in to homers.
