Yeah, because I think it has cleaned up some starting in 07. For one, the biggest offender is out of baseball now, and they have done a good job of suspending players. I still think they sweep some players under the rug, but that's another discussion for another day.

I would say 2007 on is fair game. But 1986 (at least, maybe go back earlier) through 2006 is dead to me in baseball stats.

I say we blame Boras, since everybody hates him anyways.

Seriously though, the timing of this leads me to believe that this has something to do with the Bonds evidence being unsealed. I think the Feds had access to all of MLB's drug test results in 2003 and this little nugget was probably in there somewhere. It will be interesting to see if this leads to more guys being outed.

We know he tested positive in 2003, we don't know when he started using. It's possible it started as early as his days in Seattle, maybe in his last year in an attempt to increase his value. Maybe he started in his first year in Texas to make a splash. Or just as likely or perhaps more likely, he did start around 2002 or 2003 because he was becoming an after thought in Texas since the team was so bad.

Just turned on MLB Network and it looks like this story is absolutely linked to the evidence the Fed collected. They're saying 104 players tested positive for steroids. Arod and Bonds are on there, that leaves 102 we don't know about (it's probably safe to say the Giambi brothers are on there as well).

I agree, but, in the past it was cheating. This is taking illegal substances.

You don't just have all-time historical years when you're in your late 30's. Balls that would be caught short of the warning track turned in to homers.

Ken Griffey Jr. is one guy who I have no doubt in my mind is clean. He would be the one guy who would surprise me. I mean the man doesn't even lift weights.

I have seen Griffey in person. The guy is built but you wouldn't notice when compared to Bonds, Sosa, McGwire, etc. It's a shame because I think Griffey was probably the best clean player of the steroids era.

Well you can put this in the "That Sucks" category!
I really wish baseball cared about this issue back when Sosa and McGwire were breaking records but they did not, fans came back to the stadiums to watch the homerun records be broken and chicks dug the long ball, now everyone wants to dig up all this dirt from the past when something "legal" in baseball is "illegal" now. They turned their backs on the subject when they needed money and fans back and now this........as much as I love baseball I absoultly hate the way MLB handled this situation.

Personally, I don't care if these guys were coked up or whatever. This is completely different. This effects their power and thus, homerun hitting.

Yep, a few bad apples (or in this case, 3/4 of them bad apples) ruin it for every player.

We have no clue in the late 80's, mid 90's, etc. If ARod was using in 2003 (and presumably from the start of his career), then every single player who doesn't have a clean test result goes under the same microscope IMO.

Yeah I have seen him too. He is by FAR my favorite player of All Time. He is built like a regular guy who works out. But he is also a big guy with a big frame that he grew into. He is nowhere near the body builder like bodies of Sosa, Bonds and others. If Griffey's name was ever put in with steroids I would be crushed as a baseball fan.

Theres a underlying theme here - Players with California roots seem to be more likely on the list.

That Angels world series team was the worst.

Agreed, I would be crushed also. On a side note, what is the likelihood that NBA players are juicing today? When you compare early 90's games to today, all of the players look so tiny.
