So I guess all those East German and Soviet Bloc country athletes that juiced up in the Olympics back in the day before it was Illegal still have their World Records and Olympic Records? Last I checked they don't.
I don't like the wishy washy retroactive argument that some people give because even then you're wrong regarding baseball's stance about the issue. Steroids was put on MLB's banned list in '89 when Fay Vincent was Comish but like everything controversial that MLB gets involved in they never really put any teeth to it. So all these roiders and HGH users were treading on seriously bad ground but they knew they could get away with it at the time because MLB, just like the NFL today would never throw its stars under the bus.
This is why all the pro sports leagues need independent 3rd party testing but that's another kettle of fish.
Back to A-Rod and you're argument here, let's suppose it REALLY wasn't against MLB rules it's against the rules of the United States of America. I think the laws of the land trump the laws of a professional sports league. These people knew what they were doing, it was only a matter of time catching up to them (I.E. suffering like Lyle Alzado and those Soviet Bloc athletes or being implicated in criminal investigations) These guys made their beds they'll have to lie in it.
Simple as that.
