    I think they should start a new set of records for modern day baseball. I don't think anyone i will break those old records of the Deadball Era.

        Everything is specialized nowadays. In the old days you didn't have a closer, set up man, and roles like the situational lefty. Pitchers had to pitch out of trouble and players did not wear all of the body armor of today. The mound was higher giving pitchers a more commanding angle from whence to pitch. Also kids used to play baseball almost exclusively and they threw a lot more, building up arm strength and ligament strength. There were not all of the distractions of today such as extreme sports etcetera. Baseball was king and every little boy wanted to play in the Big Leagues.
