okay, i know k-rod didn't single handedly win the series, he made a difference, but the series was the Giants' to lose and they lost it. they lost it more because dusty baker is an idiot than because of k-rod. pulling ortiz in game 6-dumb, starting hernandez over rueter in game 7-dumber, and why did he chose to start feliz as the dh in game 7 when the guy had not had a single ab in three weeks. don't worry cub fans, your pitching will have you playing meaningful games in september, but when it comes down to it, dusty WILL blow it, that's why sabean didn't ask him to come back.

as far as my signature, it was meant as a joke more than anything, i didn't realize it would start all this, peace

Sorry, Comic.. maybe I shouldn't have put you in the forefront like that. But it just reminded me that I hadn't seen an explanation for this. Does anyone know?

september callups are allowed to be in the postseason....thats one of the main reasons why you call people up - to see if there is anyone that will be beneficial to your team

if fransico rodriguez isn't on that team I guarantee they would have lost at somepoint in the playoffs. They might not even got to the world series. Anyways, I don't know anything about the rule so....

What are you talking about? Francisco Rodriguze wasn't the key to any of their games, and even if he wasn't in there, they ahev decent pitchers to replace him (Donnelly, etc.)

I believe the key to Angels winning was their batting lineup, they were red hot in the postseason.

The rule I've always heard is that in order to be on the postseason roster, you have to have been on the 25-man roster sometime before september 1. September callups have always been to evaluate players in the Major League environment, guys they think they may be able to use during the next season. That's why they allow 40 instead of the usual 25.
