september callups are allowed to be in the postseason....thats one of the main reasons why you call people up - to see if there is anyone that will be beneficial to your team

The rule I've always heard is that in order to be on the postseason roster, you have to have been on the 25-man roster sometime before september 1. September callups have always been to evaluate players in the Major League environment, guys they think they may be able to use during the next season. That's why they allow 40 instead of the usual 25.

While I agree with the sentiment, lets keep the name calling to a minimum. Especially the swearing.

Dude, have you read any of this? I'm just asking a question. I'm not whining about anything. If you don't have an answer or something valid to contribute, then stay out of it.

I could be wrong about this but I believe I heard somewhere that a player called up after sept. 1st is only allowed on a playoff roster in a certain situation where a player is injured ( not exactly sure the situation) and MLB approves it. I dont know of anyone on the Angels that was injured but I think I remember hearing something about this

Ok, that would seem to make sense. Thanks ElDoro.

you're obviously an idiot who hasn't been following the conversation. i'm the first one to say that the giants, and dust in particular blew the series. that doesn't change the debate on why k-rod was allowed to play. the angels got the ring. no doubt, they won, it's over, but were the rules followed? there are articles on the web supporting both sides.
