Yea, managers will use their closer in a game in which there is no need to just to get him some work if he hasn't pitched in awhile. I've seen a closer go a couple games without being used, so they will put him in to work the ninth even if the team is losing. You have to use your relievers to keep them fresh and sharp.
If you stopped doing cardio work for a week, you would get lose your stamina and begin to get tired much earlier...believe it or not, the human body was made to work.

What's funny in most of my of losses, the managers never used their closer in the save situation.

I'm kind of frustrated with this feature. I had all my guys in the bullpen healthy, and then I pitched a complete game the next game, so none of them were used. Then I check before the next game, and like 5 pitchers from the bullpen were tired! I am thinking maybe a pitcher can get tired if you don't get him enough work, because there is not other explanation.

yes, i've noticed the same thing. i use chad zerbe w/ the giants almost every game and he's always ready to go. i'm currently experimenting to see if just having a guy throw in the bullpen will keep him fresh, there's also alot of guys that specialize in coming in to get just one hitter out-especially lefties.
i think the mangement of the bullpen is one of the features that make this game so realistic.

ya, i've yet to face a team's closer when trailing in the ninth, the cpu seems to use their closer in the 7th. once, i hammered maddux and the braves brought in smoltz in the second inning

for your bullpen, press pause and then go to your bull pen, by each player they will have a stamina rating of A,B,C,D etc. If they are A or B I will pitch them if needed, C or lower I won't pitch them. They take much longer to warm up too if they are tired.

                <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I was under the impression that when I look in the bullpen and see the fatigue rating, that is there actual fatigue rating all the time, not how they are feeling at this moment. I have been able to bring in Mota almost every game without trouble. Also, it seems to take forever for relievers to warm up when using generated pitch count. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Yeah, just like in real baseball, you'll hear that a pitcher will pitch a game just to get some work in. I think instead of saying tired, they should say that the pitcher is rusty.

nope, that is their fatigue at that moment.
